Divine Designs Salon & Spa took advantage of unsuspecting customers with hidden fees. A family member and I were first-time customers today at Divine Designs Salon & Spa. We were asked standard questions upon arrival, with one of those questions being, "Is there a particular esthetician or masseuse you'd like to see today?", to which we replied by saying we were first-time customers and had no preference. Our services were adequate, nothing phenomenal, and definitely not worth the price we saw at the end of our experience. The staff neglected, or more accurately hid from us, the fact that there were upcharges depending on who provided the services. They placed us with level 4-5 estheticians/masseuses without us being aware. After having a look at how expensive the visit was, we called the facility and asked why our services were inaccurately priced. The woman on the line told us there were multiple upcharges because we were seen by higher level estheticians/masseuses. We told her we were never informed by any staff of a level system or any additional charges that came with it after disclosing to them we were new customers. The woman on the line gave us a long pause, then explained how the level system worked, but this explanation really should have been told before we paid the sketchy bill. It ended up being over $400 for everything. All we had was two massages and two facials. If you still plan on visiting this place after reading this, please be mindful and ask about the levels before following through with your service(s) so you can avoid this situation and not get scammed like we did.

We take our guest ratings and reviews very seriously and apologize that your recent visit with us caused you to critically review or rate our local business.  Divine Designs has been in business since 1999 and is a five-star rated, Top 100 Salon & Spa nationwide providing services to approximately 800 guests on a weekly basis in our local geographic area. To indicate that you were somehow “scammed” at Divine is offensive at the very least because there are some pertinent facts that should be added to your review to put in context for prospective guests. Our records indicate that your reservation was booked telephonically on July 31, 2023 and scheduled for August 11, 2023.  A confirmation of your reservation was emailed to you twice, once upon creation of the initial reservation and again 48 hours prior to your check in. The email confirmation contained the details of your service professional(s) who were assigned on the basis of availability at the time and date of your reservation. In fact, since this was a group booking, several different levels of providers were used based on the schedule time request for your group booking as well as the availability of a provider to accommodate that scheduled date and time.  The service professionals assigned ranged from Level 2 to Level 7 depending on the service(s) selected as well as the availability of providers for those service(s). Contrary to your statement, no such inquiry of a selection of providers or provider levels requests were made upon check-in nor would it have been necessary unless you were changing your scheduled services.  Our records clearly indicate that no such change was requested nor any change of provider(s) made from the original booking which occurred approximately eleven days prior to your check in date. As an aside, generally speaking, the difference between provider pricing at each level is a minimal $5.00 for each higher-level provider so the pricing of your final service ticket (which I have sent to you via email for review) was not based on a higher level of provider but rather the premium services you and your group member selected when first scheduling your reservation.  In fact, the estimated costs of your selected services were also provided telephonically upon the booking and has always been readily available on our website for review. Your total cost for services was $420 for services four premium spa services which took two service professionals a total combined time of approximately four hours and included your generous gratuity which is always appreciated by our professional staff. While some guests may find pricing at our full-service five-star rated salon & spa higher than their budget would normally allow, we do offer lower-level service providers that can deliver the same spa services based on your requested services but subject to a date or time availability. Should you decide to return to us for services in the future we would recommend you specify a Level 1 service professional to provide services at your budget level.  Notwithstanding, we appreciate the opportunity to have served you and hope you find that perfect spa that offers the budgetary pricing you require for your future spa-services. Sincerely, Sam R***** Corporate Administrator, Guest Services
