On 08/07/2024 my car was repossessed by Predator Recovery and Towing of Laurel, Delaware from the parking lot of a Walmart in Pocomoke City, MD. Along with the car, the driver took my wallet, containing my ID, bank and credit cards, SS card, my children's SS information, healthcare cards money and more. Also in the car was the wallet of another person who was with me and all their IDs, bank cards etc. Additionally, my medication is in the along with $1000s of equipment. They left us standing many miles from where we live in a town we don't live in in the rain with no money, no medication, no food, no shelter, and no transportation. I contacted the loan company and paid all the balance due and they sent a release of the car to Predator. They gave me the phone number to Predator Recovery and Towing to get the car back. I was told that they have a holding facility in yet a 3rd city, neither where I am nor where I live. I cannot get Predator on the phone, I have left messages and they haven't returned my calls. Their phone message says that they only return cars in the state I am located on 2 certain days of the week and by appointment only. Neither of those days are today. So, I am still stranded, without any access to my money or ID, no transportation and no contact from this company to return my property which I have paid for. At this point, this is crooked business practice verging on illegal possession. Upon looking Predator Recovery and Towing up on line, I have found complaints of them damaging the vehicles they take, videos of them improperly towing repossessed vehicles in a manner which causes damages and 6 more BBB complaints detailing very similar complaints to this complaint.

On 5/15/23 in the evening, my car was repossessed. I finally got in touch with the business listed. I explained that my purse was in the vehicle and that I had absolutely no way to buy anything. Also my work bag with my badge to access work, my son's car seat and my inhaler and other medication was in the car. They told me I had to wait until 5/19/23 at 4:15 to retrieve my belongings. I arrived at 4:04pm they were derogatory, asked for my id I said it was in the car, like I explained. They started yelling explained to who. I also have harassing and derogatory text messages from their business phone.
