  A couple of years ago I got a call from Athene my annuity companies insurance fraud dept. Someone sent in a request with a void check from ***** **** and want to withdrawal about $70k from my account. They stopped it and gave me a special password when I call in again. I then called JohnsonBrunetti who i took out the annuity with and they said someone sent in a letter saying they had throat cancer and could not talk and wanted to withdraw $70k. THEY where going to send the money. I said I want to talk to Eric H***** VP. Eric got on he phone and said he would stop the payment. He said I should only come in in person for withdrawals. I asked him to investigate why this could have happened. His office had all my info including my SS #. I asked if he could check if a possible inside job and get back to me. He never did. Since that time I called a few of their customers I know and told them what happened. I have closed all accounts with them. It's not JohnsonBrunetti's fault but they could of at least let me know if they did an internal investigation and results of it. Beware of scammers.

  We waited nearly 2 months after our initial consult, just to hear back. We had to call and remind them. Over the next 2 months, we were asked to sign 65 pages of electronic documents, without any up front explanations. Upon further reading, J & B had been bought out by another firm. They sell investments which may contradict their fiduciary obligation. They never presented a personal investment plan w/ specifics, and switched my advisor mid stream, to a newer associate, not a CFP. On television they offer tax strategies, but in person say they do not. I was initially told they recommend ETFs for low fees, as a fiduciary looking out for your best interest, but immediately they directed 1/4 of our portfolio into high commission Annuities, w/ “promise” of 6% minimum returns, but contracted minimum returns of .05%. By the way, please sign this fiduciary waiver. I mention this investment is not what I’m comfortable with and ask for alternatives. Instead of alternatives, I get pushback. J & B admitted they did not have the time to spend w/ us. I could go on, but I won’t. Truly disappointed. I wish we learned this all at the first meeting. I will continue searching for a local CFP who wants to work with and help their clients.

  I can set up a retirement account with Johnson a few months ago. After two meetings, I did transfer the assets over to their brokerage firm, however, I was never told by the representative that I could not perform trades in my own account is closed a great deal of confusion and stress. I do not recommend anyone investing money to Johnson Brunetti I did not have a good experience. Thank you.
