    Services were rendered by Waterbury Hospital on 2/4/2024 emergency services. Eleven months later I am sent a bill and requested that I pay in full. I have made two payments and they are still threatening to send my name to a collection agency even after its paid in full. I have call a half dozen times, always sent to voice mail I do leave my contact information, only to not hear from them at all.

    Experienced a cardiac event in March of 2023. We attempted to set up a payment plan of $100/month. Billing dept said we were all set. 2 months go by no payment was taken out. We called again, we were informed no payment plan was set up. We provided the date, time & name of person we set up payment plan with. They were able to find the information. Billing dept sent our bill to collections. From Sept until February we went back & forth in collections out of collections. Waterbury Hospital Billing finally set up a monthly payment plan of $402.51. We explained we cannot afford 402.51, we can afford $100/month. If we have more we'll send more. Waterbury Billing answer was "Pay it or get a lawyer"We are not trying to get out of paying. We've been trying to set up a payment plan since last summer. Waterbury Hospital incurred a data breach, perhaps that can explain some of the delay, but it's been almost a year since the cardiac event. Being told "pay the $402.51 or get an attorney" is threatening, unprofessional & just plain mean. Can you please help us reduce the monthly payment to $100? We're both disabled & doing the best we can. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any help will be appreciated.

    Good Morning,

     

    In regards to complaint *************** we have contacted the patient and have expedited a refund to him.    We have also notified our vendor, who handles our patient call center, of the complaint and requested re-education & additional customer service training be done for this staff member.
