Took my 2020 explorer there with a significantly hard downshift. Jay researched and found out the vehicle was still barely in warranty and recommended a Ford dealer he had a good relationship with. He could have easily just quoted the transmission work and I would have never been the wiser - refreshing to see there are still honest shops. Will definitely be returning should I ever have a need out of warranty.

We took our 2011 ****** ****** to Jay at Manchester Transmission and he and his crew worked diligently to determine my cars perplexing problem of lack of power. These guys were awesome. Brought my ford to the dealer, he gave me astronomical quote. Gave quote and car to this place—- manchester transmission is a God send! Saved money any time. This is an excellent business.! Jay , the owner, was helpful ,knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be returning to this business in the future if needed. I brought my wife Lexus to the dealership willing to pay more for their experience and tools and knowledge due to a difficult shifting concern. They tried selling me a new transmission based on historic codes that I gave them when they were unable to duplicate the concern. I called up jay and asked for a quote to replace the transmission solenoid based on my own research. He put me in my place, schooled me on the process, told me he was not looking to charge me money for an improper diagnosis just for me to leave with the same problem. He diagnosed the problem, fixed it sooner than he said was possible, and it cost us 1/3 the price. The process was easy, honest, and jay seems to truly care about the customers! QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP: 10 out of 10 (Excellent) COMMUNICATION: 10 out of 10 (Excellent) PRICING: 9 out of 10 (Very Fair Pricing) CUSTOMER VALUATION/ APPRECIATION: 10 out of 10 (Excellent) My transmission started to exhibit signs of needing attention in my 1/2-ton pickup back in Oct/November of 2022. I first took my vehicle to the dealer who told me I would need a brand-new transmission ($6,100), plus shop fees and tax. I decided to research and seek out a second opinion. I decided to call up Manchester Transmission on Sheldon Rd and spoke to Jay. He was very respectful and listened to what I described over the phone. I setup a time to go to the shop. My first impressions of the customer lobby business area were that it was clean and functional. Jay even provided me a tour of the shop... showing me the garage bay area as well as the stock room/ transmission repair area. Everything was systematic and laid out in a very functional manner. After Jay confirmed that my transmission was on the early stages of failure and the transmission was inspected outside the truck, he provided me some options and his personal recommendations of what he would do if it were his truck. After addressing all my questions and concerns I authorize the work. It took about 5-6 days. Throughout that time Jay provided updates as they worked on my truck. It has now been about 2 months since Manchester Transmission rebuilt and upgraded my transmission. My truck is running strong, and the shifts are crisp and solid. Thanks Jay and Manchester Transmissions for rebuilding and upgrading my transmission at a fair price which was overall less than what the dealer quoted for a new transmission that did would come with the same stock week components.Manchester Transmissions Inc.
