I first learned about ILG via a mailed brochure. I then spoke with Bruce S**** (President) who was a slick salesperson and who convinced me to place my trust in him to represent me in marketing a patent for lease or sale (with a substantial upfront fee and a shared percent of profits if the patent were leased/sold). In hindsight, I should have had all verbal commitments put in the contract (though unclear if, even so, ILG would have the capacity to fulfill commitments with a reasonable degree of quality). After receiving the full upfront payment, Bruce handed off the ‘work’ to an associate who supposedly contacted the companies (note: I provided the names/contacts for the vast majority of companies) by email. On numerous occasions, I asked this associate to see sample email(s) sent to companies and he repeatedly refused. When he indicated that companies were non-responsive, I repeatedly asked for him to follow up with them by phone or mail (note: before signing, I recall Bruce indicating that companies would be contacted by mail but the contract did not specify this and he later asked for additional considerable fees to ‘cover’ this. I was not comfortable at that point throwing away good money after bad, especially given all the red flags including ILG’s amateurish command of the English language in written communications). The associate (with Bruce well aware) refused to follow up verbally with any company, essentially indicating that he would not do anything more beyond the (unverified) ‘email blast’ unless we paid more. If you are looking for a company to take your money and do (at most) the bare minimum, this is the company for you.

I’m not sure what Mr. David M********* specific compliant is other than generally grousing and suggesting unflattering comments about me and ILG. ILG followed the agreement signed by M******* and ILG and this was explained to ******** both verbally and in writing many times. After contract signing we conduct a kick off meeting with Clients and again go over the process. This was done with ********. Our process does not include a regular (snail) mailing to target companies and this was explained to him both verbally and in writing (see contract). At the time of the kick off meeting ******** did not object to the fact there would be no regular mailing. We use email predominantly. In 17 years we have never used regular mail as it is ineffective and this was also explained to ********. If I have never used regular mail in 17 years why would he have the impression we would start with him? I never told him we would do so. (He did mention to me that another company he talked with did the regular mailing and perhaps he was confused) I offered to do the regular mailing if he wanted it, but he would have to pay for the cost. I offered to use our time and only charge him the postage and out of pocket costs as I was trying to be cooperative. But he declined. We do, on occasion, do verbal follow ups but that is when a targeted company has shown interest and wants to get more information. Unfortunately no companies showed such interest. As one can see Mr. ******** has not indicated we failed to provide the agreement terms to him. He is complaining about ILG not doing something outside the contract. Even though he was unwilling to pay for additional services. On very rare occasions Clients develop their own sense of the service that should be done for them. Being reasonable people we try to accommodate them because we understand this is a new process for them. But there are limits. I would prefer his note and non-flattering comments about me and ILG not be published because it is not a fair representation of my attempts to satisfy him and of us following the terms of the agreement.
