  College Hunks have been very deceitful regarding the cost of removing a single couch. According to their website they will give a free estimate before starting the removal. ****** *******, the General Manager, did nothing of the kind. I wasn't concerned because I marked on their website that I had only one item and saw a cartoon figure of a truck for one item listed as, at most, $125 to remove. After the couch was removed she came up with a price of $181 - $56 more than listed! I was so shocked and surprised and did try to negotiate a better price. What was I supposed to do? Tell them to bring the couch back to my apartment? Before she quoted me the price she pretended to call a manager for an estimate but, of course, she couldn't reach him. Then she said she was trying to pull up a chart listing costs and, of course, couldn't find that either. The bill was put together on a cell phone with an attached appliance. The bill listed only $181 and no other information was given. Because I have used other moving companies (not junk haulers) I am accustomed to professional appearances and listing of costs, etc. The more I thought of the deceit the angrier I was with myself for paying for the removal of one 1970s couch. I called and left a message with the owner ***** **** and have received no reply. I left a message with the main office in ******* and have heard nothing for 12 days. I definitely believe this is a scamming company and would never recommend them. With every breath I have I tell people of my rotten experience.

  We provided an estimate of the job before starting. On the site the site, prior to loading, the customer was informed that the minimum at that location was $181. The customer told our people to continue. Once loaded with a final price at the minimum, the client agreed to the price and paid.We always offer to unload the items if the client is not satisfied with the price.

  I would not ever recommend College Hunks as a mover! It all started with an estimate that wasnt even close to the final bill! The person who came out to give the bid was way off on the amount of time and number of trucks needed for the move so much so that they didnt take items that were supposed to be moved. The move itself caused damage to several items and scratches to flooring. In trying to get some action on these issues I got nothing but excuses about why nothing was done. I think the company motto is wait until the customer forgets about the issues!

  We are sorry that a client feels this way and that we have not met expectations. We take care to ensure the protection of property, the homes and items being moved, and respond to complaints promptly.
  
  It is unfortunate that in this case, despite our efforts,our client was unable to be satisfied.
