I spent $389 on an IKON pass. Turns out it doesnt work on the one IKON mountain I have planned a vacation for. They will not let me upgrade and spend more money with them so it will work on this mountain. They will not refund me. They will not give me credit so I use this pass another time. I realize I clicked the wrong box. Now I have to throw away $389, and still spend a huge amount of money for day passes for the mountain I have planned a trip to. ****'s absurdly restrictive policies to anti-consumer and inhumane. This is not the way to treat people. This does not happen at other companies with other purchases. It is bad policy. It needs to be changed.

I would leave zero stars if allowed. We rented 5 sets of ski packages from the rental shop and purchased the $4 breakage insurance for each package as an addon. The insurance is called "breakage insurance" on the form. The clear implication is that it covers if your skis are broken. My 12 year old son crashed into some snow powder (possibly hitting a rock or trees but he was not sure) and his skis cracked. The manager of the rental shop told him that our insurance did not cover this damage because this was not considered normal "wear and tear". That's not what the insurance states. The form for purchasing insurance simply asks if we want breakage insurance and has a disclaimer stating that the insurance does not cover "lost, misplaced, abused or stolen" skis. The manager attempted to claim that because the skis were broken, that meant "abused" and therefore the insurance does not cover that. I asked him if he was saying my son broke the skis on purpose or if he was saying my son was doing something other than skiing with the skis and he said no, he was not accusing my son of this. I then explained to him that if my son was in fact skiing and that the skis broke while skiing, that he cannot call that abuse. Abuse is if someone uses the skis in a way other than the way they were intended or if they were damaged like by running over them with a car. That would be abuse.I told the manager I refused to pay for the broken skis. He banned me from using their shop or from skiing on the mountain. I recorded my interaction with him in case anyone claims I was cursing, screaming or behaving inappropriately (I was not). I was upset and rightfully so. I even told the director over this shop but she upheld my ban from using the company although they did clarify that my ban was only for the season (not for life). Had the director simply apologized for the manager's behavior and rescinded his original ban completely, I would have considered the matter handled appropriately.

To Ikon Pass,I purchased a session pass this year and I would like to comment on the incredibly poor value this pass offers. I only realize now that I paid $625 for 4 days of skiing total at the dozens of resorts available and not a few (2-4) days at each resort. The base pass which I have purchased numerous times before included unlimited skiing at a number of resorts and so it would stand to reason that the session pass which doesn't include unlimited skiing would be less expensive at approx. 2/3 the cost of the base pass.Sadly today I confirmed with your customer service person over the telephone I am enitled to only 4 days of skiing maximum for $625.I feel the way the pass offer information was presented is ambiguous (up to 4 days at select resorts - implying multiple resorts offering up to 4 days of skiing) and is very misleading when the passes you offer are compared to one another. The fact the session pass entitles the holder to four days of skiing total all season should be presented clearly and emphatically. Thanks and please let me know if you can offer any options including buying the pass I've purchased for a number of seasons the base pass. Thanks ***********************

Alterra Mountain Company's ********** Sales takes advantage of people generating group sales for them. I have generated over $60k worth of group ikon pass sales leads and spent over 100 hours talking to and communicating with friends, family, friends of friends. After only a month into the 6 month sales period, I had over $17K of confirmed Ikon pass sales already. The ********** sales team then cancels the agreement, keeps the names of individuals, their birthdate, and emails and deletes my access to the file I put together for them. Terminates our agreement without warning and revokes any sales "compensation" I should have received. They don't have a phone number for group sales on their agreements either and you cannot find it online. I found the general corporate line and no one picks up the phone. Basically, the company does not want to be accessible. In this case they terminated an agreement without warning and you have no way of communicating with them if they choose not to respond to your email.

Bought an Ikon pass for the first time in a while. Then they initiate a reservation system without any indication besides one email with small text at the bottom, and that is only after you've purchased their over-priced pass!******** mountain is reserved on weekends over 1.5 months out, so good luck skiing anywhere last minute. Over-sold and under promised.Big lines at all their resorts. Support small resorts and ditch Alterra.
