  If I could, I would give this shop a -5. My dad took in his car to get a transmission replacement. They told him they could do it and would order a new transmission from the dealership and would install it. They quoted him at almost $5000 and took half as a deposit. Then, they kept the car for over 2 months. During this time, my dad visited them a couple of times to ask on the progress. Finally, they called him to say the car was done. We went in and paid the rest of the money. They said the transmission was done and they had changed the battery. The invoice now said that it was a remanufactured transmission vs a new one like they had said. At this point, I took the care to two mechanic friends to check on the work and they confirmed that nothing had been done to the car. Bolts were still corroded, and not even an attempt was made to take them off with a wrench (no signs of force used). My friends recommended taking to the dealership for a transmission diagnosis and they also confirmed that no transmission work had been done on the car. The dealership also confirmed that there was no record of a new transmission being ordered to by the shop. The serial number on the transmission was the same one that came with the car from the factory. They took photos and wrote up a description of their findings. That same day, I went in to the shop with my dad to complain and try and get the money back. They kept claiming that nothing was wrong as the car was functioning, but I kept asking for clarification as to why if no work was done on the transmission, we were charged as if they had. Ultimately they agreed to give the money back, but not on that day. To come back the following Friday. During the week, they called my dad to say they had the money and to come on Friday after 5 pm. The day arrived and the shop was closed and no one would answer the phone. After another visit at an unexpected time, they finally paid back.
