I caught a dog that had been roaming our neighborhood for weeks, which my Veterinarian traced back to this Rescue. I already have 3 dogs of my own and 2 of them do not accept strange dogs in our home. I reached out to the rescue at 8:00 pm or so on 8/14/2024, and explained the situation. I asked them to come pick up the dog because my situation made it unsafe to keep the dog in my home. I was told they don't have any fosters at this time, so if I can't keep him I should take him to the **************** which is a kill shelter. I explained that this dog is highly anxious and skiddish due to the trauma of being lost on the streets for weeks, and that the shelter would be very damaging to him and I was not willing to risk him at the shelter. I even explained that my vet had prescribed sedatives to calm his anxiety. She didn't care or offer other solutions, just kept saying they had no room. I told her I found it terrible that a 501-C Dog Rescue would suggest sending one of their previous dogs to the shelter. She stated "I'm not the Director". I asked her for the Director's contact information, which she only said, she would have her call me. By 9: 14 on 8/15 I had still not heard from the Director. I had to demand her number from ********. I reached out to *****, the Director and re-explained the situation. ***** texted me at 12:27 pm stating that the dog is not legally theirs and to take to the shelter because they have to find the owners, implying that they can't legally shelter the dog. I found out from PACFA who licenses *********************** that is a lie. ***** just re-stated I should take the dog to the *************** She said the ************** can't euthanize without the rescues permission..proving that they do have say so with this dog. They make a lifelong committment to these dogs when they take them in. This rescue is less than transparent and failed in their promise to this dog. ***'T SUPPORT THIS RESCUE.
