This is the worse company I have ever dealt with in my life. First of all, they offer paid support, which would be fine it if wasn't a terrible call center from *****. After you pay to call this support, you will be asked about your information, and if you have access to your recovery method. Which I clearly don't! That is why I am contacting you. I know all the passwords, I know the security questions, I know the devices my email has been logged into, I know the city, states it has been accessed in, I know all the old passwords plus the current password, but since I lost my phone, I guess I am just incapable of ever accessing my yahoo email again even though I never have approved 2-way authentication on this email. After you go through the same conversation with the support team for the millionth time, they will ask you for your state license to upload in order to verify it's your email, since you don't have access to the recovery number. Which the company has two major data breaches in its history, so I don't even feel comfortable doing that, but I finally gave in, and sent over my state ID and it still didn't work.

I wish there was an option for leaving zero stars. I recently got a new phone which logged me out of my email. Oddly, Yahoo was the only one that was logged out completely. I forgot the password for my email and went through the steps to recover it. After answering a security question, I get sent back to the screen asking my to try signing in again. I called to see if there was a problem and they told me they couldnt answer that unless I paid for the service. That is absolutely wild. I even tried typing in fake answers to see if my previous ones were wrong. Yahoo said they were incorrect so I typed in my correct passwords again and sure enough, I was sent back to the screen asking me to try signing in again. Extremely upsetting experience

Do not use them. If you lose access to your email account and the phone number for recovery is outdated, you aren't going to receive any help. Other sites let you use a recovery email or phone number, nope, not this company. AND customer service is a joke, why have customer service if it isn't going to help everyone. You have to pay! This is really sad because I've had this email since 07 and never thought of deleting it. Thanks for the help and kicking me out, Yahoo!

Yahoo forced me to pay if I wanted to reset my password. I do not know my password as I created the account 10+ years ago, and after my phone logged me out of my email my only option was to pay for premium customer support if I wanted to get back into my account. This resulted in me losing over a decade of mail history as I do not want to support this in any way. Ive never heard of any other company using this business practice, and personally see it as shady. If you are reading this, please dont reply to this review reiterating your practice as this complaint has to do with the practice itself. I would strongly suggest that no one use this company for any services until they change this practice, as you may have to choose between paying or losing your mail history if you get locked out of your account. I would give zero stars if I could, and will do the best I can to avoid giving Yahoo my business for anything unless they change this practice. If your service is free, then you should make unlocking your account free as well.

Completely deleted my entire email inbox of 10+ years of emails! Customer support told me I had to sign up for the paid membership plan to get tech support. Absolutely not, what a scam!! I was given a one time pass to get 7 days of my emails back. Scam!!!

I tried using Yahoo Premium during my free trial for 7 days to help my dad unlock his account due to one of the recovery numbers for the two-factor authentication process no longer being active. After trying to call two ****, with the first one being insufferably rude around midnight, est, I cancelled after 3 days and received the cancellation email at my alternate email address as I had deleted my default Yahoo account afterwards that was initially created with my gmail account. However, recently, I was charged for the service anyways, even after the cancellation which, of course, I contested with the email proof. Checked my Yahoo account and saw that there are no active subscriptions on it and then realized that Yahoo Premium was sending the alerts, concerning my old, no-even one-week-old Yahoo account (created with my gmail account at the time). Logged back into the Yahoo account with my gmail account and also saw no subscriptions but saw that one alert for the inaccurate 'payment overdue'. Tried to delete that Yahoo account but was unable to because of that inaccurate overdue balance. Let me ask you- how was I able to delete that gmail-created Yahoo account weeks ago if there was indeed an outstanding balance, to begin with? Also, if anyone is thinking of signing up for a Yahoo *************** just to call customer service, even during a "free trial", it may not ultimately be free because they will find a way to charge you for it like they're trying to do in my case. It's ridiculous because the **** that I dealt with didn't resolve anything, on top of that first *** that I talked to who was like a customer service *** from H*** I still have that email cancellation as proof that this service was cancelled before the 7-day free trial was officially over.

Yahoo ***************** Forum. I am politically Independent, but have replied to hateful political messages, which shouldnt be in the ***************** Forum. Since most of hate is from Liberals and Yahoo is apparently Liberal, I get a fluttering on my smartphone rendering it impossible to view comments by people with an understanding of a particular stock. Yahoo Finance has become a hateful political social venue and would advise against their censorship. Sad, as some people used to provide valuable insight relating to Finances.

I am locked out of my yahoo account. My recovery telephone number and email never changed since I created my account. Now they keep saying they want money to recover my yahoo account. I go through the steps to reset and verify information and it still ends with a toll free number that wants money.

The new yahoo is not worth the headache, I purchased the Yahoo Plus and hate it. I would have to go in manually and select all email because it would only show me priority. I hate that feature, I missed out on a lot of emails because you cant select that from your phone only a PC. So I did not continue to use the plus. Now I am unable to see any emails that are in my trash, it says no messages. I have to manually type in the recipients name in order to find the email that I need in order to finish the **** application process. 2 times now I have missed this opportunity because there is a time limit and each time I'm searching Yahoo switches it up a notch. I tried to get help with this and you have to pay for it, or have Plus which I do not d. I have been a loyal customer of **********************'s for over 20 years. I swore by it. Now I will not be using my email accounts. i will be switching to gmail. Thanks yahoo for withholding my emails and making it to where I could not get the position of my dreams. I will be looking into the legal side of this issue with them. I'm going to speak to a lawyer and make Yahoo accountable for their actions.

Forgot my password & no longer had access to old phone number to be able to sign into my email. Even with my recovery email yahoo still wanted to send a code to my old phone number so I was unable to login to my account. Extremely dissatisfied & uncomfortable with my experience with yahoo in general & especially with yahoo customer support. I was asked some odd & suspicious questions while trying to verify my account/identity, like did you travel recently & how do you remember your passwords, do you write them in your notes on your phone or down on paper. I was told these questions are for security purposes, but I do not see how such odd questions would equate to verifying my account or my identity, when I asked for clarification I was spoken down on disrespectfully to which the staff repeated the ********************* of for security purposes. I find it truly suspicious to ask such things. The process was unnecessarily long with the staff mostly rambling, repeating multiple times the things I said, & difficult to understand as her accent was thick. I also do not see how it is okay to have to pay for a premium account of ***** plus tax to be able to get back into your email. They refused to help unless you pay for the premium account. Staffs name was *****, which Im sure is not true, because when she first answered she said a different name I couldnt pronounce, as she was clearly not from here. When I worked at a call agency we were told to use fake names, so Im sure she was told the same thing. Overall, I dont suggest even creating a yahoo account. Ive had it for 12 ********* find this to be highly suspicious, unnecessary, & disrespectful.
