• Advertising Review:

  On March 6, 2024,BBB Serving Los Angeles and Silicon Valley requested that the businesssubstantiate, modify, or discontinue claims advertised in El Avisador Magazine. In particular, thebusiness advertises savings claims such as “30% off” and “20% off.” The business also advertises lowest price claimssuch as “The best price here,” “Get the best price here,” and "We offer the best deals."

   

  The BBB Code ofAdvertising states, “1.1 The primary responsibility for truthful andnon-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should beprepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publicationor broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly tothe advertising medium or BBB. 1.2 Advertisements which are untrue, misleading,deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offersto sell, shall not be used. 1.3 An advertisement as a whole may be misleadingby implication, although every sentence separately considered may be literallytrue. 1.4 Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, but byomitting or obscuring a material fact.”

  The BBB Code of Advertising also states that, "Despite anadvertiser's best efforts to ascertain competitive prices, the rapidity withwhich prices fluctuate and the difficulty of determining prices of all sellersat all times preclude an absolute knowledge of the truth of unqualifiedunderselling/lowest price claims. 12.1 Advertisers must have propersubstantiation for all claims prior to dissemination. 12.2 Unqualifiedunderselling claims must be avoided. 12.3 Advertisers can lessen the potentialfor consumer confusion by appropriate qualifications to any underselling/lowestprice claim, such as by stating, if truthful, that the advertiser will meet orbeat a lower price. In such circumstances, the advertiser must comply withSection 13.”

   

  As of April 1,2024, the business has failed to respond to our request for substantiation, modification,or discontinuation of the advertised claims.
