The fact that this business has a A+ review is suspect. I have read many complaints about their business practices on Facebook. In my own experience, I was told the day I opened a PGE account that I had to opt out of MCE. While I believe in clean energy, I don’t want to have to pay both PGE and MCE. They also make the opt out process extra difficult. I opted out day 1, was asked to call back in 2 weeks cause they had not received my new account info from PGE. I called back and left 2 voicemails and send an email. I got a call back saying they received my opt out the first timeI called. Then I get a PGE bill with MCE charges. Called a 4th time, they say it takes 2 billing cycles to opt out and I cannot ask for a refund since I am “using” the energy. Any county forcing residents to be opt in and contact MCE to opt out should take notice!!! Thor customer service is M-F 9-5 and most of the time you will leave a voicemail. They don’t seem to have the staff to process the opt outs so residents should not have to bare the inconvenience of repeat calling and being charged multiple times until they process your opt out. I will forward this complaint to the Solano County board of supervisors.

It is important to note that there are three parts to every electricity bill: transmission, delivery and generation. The importance of this distinction is that MCE customers receive and pay for generation from MCE instead of PGE, so the charges are a replacement to what *** would have normally charged the customer. In addition to that Solano County customers currently pay less for ********************** services than they would through ***. This is important because if there is a delay in opting out a customer ********************** is more than happy to work with *** to resolve it in the customers favor, however, when ********************** is less expensive PGE does not retroactively opt out customers because they would then have to charge them more than the charges that they have already been billed for and it is their business standard to not place the customer in such a position. We know that that it is frustrating that it can take so long for a change of service but we, in tandem with PGE, do process them as quickly as possible and with the customers interest in mind at all times.
