I concur with the statements in the reviews. Unfortunately, I also was taken by Tri-State with respect to installation/workmanship. Of course, as I was trying to get them to respond, the damage go ******* was done along with the attic and living room ceiling. SCE, like the others, distanced themselves from Tri-State. After emails, telephone calls and certified mail, I got the information from a reasonable SCE representative that Tri-State was no longer in business. In my opinion, SCE should be liable for the damage(s) caused by the shoddy work performed by their employees. So now it's money out-of-pocket to repair their blunders.

We were approved for the energy efficiency program in July of 2021 We had a new ac unit installed in August 2021. Worked great for the first 2 years granite it wasn't ran for 2 years maybe 10 months out of the 2 years because our summer only lasts around 4 months and we have never used the heater because we use our gas fireplace. I turned the Ac on last week and it was blowing out warm air. I reached out to proteus and SCE and was told there was nothing they could do because it was over 2 years since it was installed. So we reached out to a AC company to have a technician come out. One came out ran their diagnostics on it and was told that the condenser had gone out do to Tri-state installing a larger unit that didn't fit the roofing jack that our old unit sat on. So it's causing to much back pressure. Basically it's like breathing through a straw. We have the option of spending a ton load of money to put a bandaid on it and with no guarantees on how long it would last. So again I reached out to Sce and told them that the unit was installed improperly and they still told me that there was nothing they could do because it has passed the 2 years warranty which I told them I understand that and if it was installed correctly I wouldn't be calling them. Still the agent was standing strong with the 2 year warranty. I've reached out to Tri-state home improvements inc many of times and I have left many messages and of course haven't heard anything back. I can't believe Sce didn't check on their back ground prior to hiring them to be the contractors. So I believe Tri-state home improvement inc is a scam business and I also believe Sce is in the wrong for having them be their contractors and not voiding the warranty because it wasn't installed correctly. I will be spreading the word to everyone not to ever use Tri-state home improvements inc .I hope you're not like me and reading these responses after you have been done wrong by this company. Brian

My mother was scammed by Tri State. I assisted my mom with applying for this low-income program to help with energy efficiency savings. She was qualified for a new AC unit. Tri State was the contractor who installed this AC Unit in Jan 2022. They came and supposably installed the unit in less than an hour. Fast forward to Dec 2022 my mom attempted to turn on her heater but was unsuccessful. I reached out to Tri State explaining the situation. They sent someone right away. However, they came and left within 20 mins. I called them back to find out the diagnosis. I was told it has to do with hot surface ignitor. therefore, they are unable to work on the unit. Mind you they installed this unit brand new, but they can't repair it. I then called HVAC repair company who was very helpful. I explained to them the program my mom was on. They ask for the paperwork so they can submit a claim. After reviewing the paperwork and cross referencing both units, they were so dumb founded that the AC unit at my mom's vs the AC unit on the paperwork did not match. The repair guy explained the condition of the current AC unit. it was old 2004 unit and rusty. This was supposed to be a new unit not a 20-year-old unit. Needless to say, they took the payment and took advantage of an elder woman. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. They do not deserve 1 star.
