This company I would rate a ZERO if I could.They allowed someone to sleep in unit **** in ********* ** for almost 2 months. Then I had enough and had to report it to locals. Manager actually stuck up for apparently a friend or relative and now I am suing them for civil rights and Landlord ******* violations of Law mainly proper notification etc.They will refund every ***** back to me asap.I have filed numerous complaints against a District Manager ***************************** who deceived the public by violating an FTC warning on Deceptive Practices and False Advertising in this incident this clown actually posted as a consumer on ****** review complimenting his minions or people he works with FAILING TO ID HIMSELF AS AN EMPLOYEE! ?? This conduct is actually prohibited by LAW but this guy sane guy who violated my civil rights of notice by not supporting a consumer but his employees who are allowing SQUATTERS TO SLEEP IN UNITS!NO JOKE! On several occasions I caught a man entering bldg on foot no car and staying overnight. Seems like this DM is trying to cover someone's ***, but this DM is a clown, a fool to think that I didn't document everything with ********* Police etc.Furthermore there are very potentially dangerous issues there, elevators malfunctioning every week or 2 weeks leaving people unable to get to upper floor units (happened a few times already but they did not reimburse?Why not? You raise rents illegally not properly giving notice?)This company could actually potentially be sued class action but people acquiesce because of their fear of retaliation I don't fear these bloated and manipulating cons, I'm suing them for very tangible reasons Furthermore not only are elevators malfunctioning they lack inspection stickers etc. Also WHY ARE LIGHT CENSORS TIMED WHEN PEOPLE COULD POTENTIALLY TRIP WHEN LIGHTS GO OUT IF LOOKING THROUGH STUFF INSIDE A UNIT? WHY WOULD ENGINEERING ALLOW LIGHT CENSORS AND NO CENSORS ON DOORS? ABSOLUTELY NO SECURITY WITH LIMITED CAMERAS?Review fromBrittany B

I wish there was a way to give 0 stars!Backstory: I went to pick up my trailer last time and my spare tire was all cut by a knife. I had to go get another one quick and it was not cheap.Now today: I just got a call from my storage place. The guy says, "Hey, do you still have the spare tire that was cut and you replaced it last time?" Me: "No, why" Him: "Well, ya, umm, you're missing a tire, it's not there." Sooooooo stupid. You pay for a service and now I am paying double because I have to buy my trailer a new tire. SmartStop Self Storage SUCKS!!!!! Waiting for the region director to call me. Let's see if he even does. I am beginning to think storage places just **** in general. However...I DO NOT recommend SmartStop Self Storage!!! The most horrible, prejudiced business I have ever been to! The blonde woman who runs it discriminated profusely and is rude and cruel. No human kindness here I warn you take your business elsewhere. This is a horrible storage unit should be shut down. They overcharged us and purposely would lock us out to charge us for more ! So cruel. We got heat stroke from trying to move out in time came back to ask for a little grace,still no kindness still trying to charge more money. Disgusting.SmartStop Self Storage

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They ended up charging me 2 days in a row after i moved out and even cleaned their area for them! No call back, they overdrafted my account with the TWO payments and will not do anything about that. Not to mention the day i was getting my stuff out they call me 3 min after i leave to ask if all my stuff is out. FIRST OFF i never told them id be out at any certain day SO MIND YOUR OWN...i paid for the full month and this was ONLY the 17th! Their prices are OUTRAEGOUS and they deactivate your code after 10 pm. WTF???? its completely fenced in, you need a code to get in and cant even get in to get anything you need after 10 pm????? ********* ******* SmartStop Storage. Do NOT USE THEM. We gave **** a notice of 01/21/2023 that we had moved out and on 01/28/2023 I called and reminded her of this. She said no problem she would go put a lock on it and not bill for the month of February. February first we get a deduction on our bank account of $179.99 and I called and talked to **** and she said they would -get it taken care of and refund it. IT WOULD TAKE **** business days to get the refund, or I could put a stop payment at my bank on it. UNACCEPTABLE!!! I did not make the mistake why should I pay? I need this money put back in our account we are on a tight budget. This was supposed to be taken care of. I live in a community and will let everyone know here NOT TO USE YOU!!Review fromAngelo S.

I was charged ($270) all in a month for my unit. I understood that a rate increase would happen after 6 months but when my new rate became $370 this is ridiculous. That's like almost a 40% increase. When I asked to review this they told me to "take it or leave it". Very hard for me to move all my stuff out at this time. Sexism Matter at the Storage ************************************************ Hello,Having experienced sexism while living here as a tenant, I would like to address it. I have been a tenant since 2020 at this smart stop location. I rented an office 101, had few lockers before. There is a manager here by the name of ******, even though he knows my name is *****, he always refers to me as the woman, and also when he speaks to other tenants here, he mentions me as the woman, not my name ... In addition, there is the lady who works in the office, whose name is *****, whom he refers to as the Girl when speaking to others about her. That's Rude. Despite my belief in the goodness in people, I haven't filed a complaint yet.... I filed a complaint today over ******'s sexism against me due to this matter. The tenant of office 204 told me a week ago, that he would return his office by the end of this month, so I told ************** would be interested in taking that office. I was the one who asked for it first... ****** called me at 9:38 am yesterday from the Smart Stop phone number and told me that the tenant of office 204 has completely moved out, With a $300 required security deposit, I want to clarify if I will be able to rent the office as it is, or if he will paint the wall first as he done with other offices recently since they required $300 deposited. He told me the head office will pain it, and he will make a call to let them know. I let him know I will go to the office this morning and talk to him after he spoke to the head office about what they want to do with it before I rent it. We spoke at 9:38 am, waiting for him to get confirmation from the head office . I arrived at the office as 10:50 am, I went to speak with him regarding about he will make a call to head office . He told me he rented to other tenants since they don't mind moving in without painting. Why didn't he call talk to me before he rented it to out. Is it because I am a Woman he didn't want rent it ???
