  We just moved from ************* to **************. Smart movers unloaded our moving trucks. We found them to be professional, courteous and hard working l. They did a great job. ??

  Smart move originally gave me a quote of $600 for a 3 to 4 hour move from **** to *******. And I told them I didnt need anything wrapped, except for maybe a couple of items, and when the movers came, they wrap every single thing and I kept questioning why are you wrapping that metal barstools which did not need to be wrapped end up tables, coffee tables And they just continued which made it turn into an eight hour job and I was charged $1135. Even some of the employees thought that was ridiculous and question why it was taking so long when they had to come finish the job that the original movers didnt do . Remove

  Do not hire them. Extortion. I move every two years for work, so I have lots of experience with movers. The owner gave me an estimate over the phone for $780 but when they got to the new address the movers presented a bill of $1990. You have to pay the total even before they unload. When I tried to negotiate, ****** told the movers to lock the truck and leave with furniture. The phone was on speaker so I heard the whole conversation. It was a really scary moment. My kids started crying and I was close to calling the police. When ****** called you could tell he was an expert at fighting with customers. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to pay the total. One of the worst moving experiences ever.

  I was charged more than double what I was quoted (like almost every review I see). The estimator advised me there was no need to empty ******************** drawers as the movers would shrink wrap them. One mover slung my nightstand sideways over his shoulder & all the small items fell out while the larger ones went into the bottom drawer, which I then could not get open. The truck battery died & the driver asked me to jump it with my car, which I agreed to. It didn't work. When I complained about the fee, the owner, ******, stated he discounted the 45 minutes the driver wasted trying to get the truck running. He demanded payment before allowing the truck to be unloaded then threatened to put my belongings in storage until I paid. ****** told me he provided a 3rd guy for free, which the driver told me is ******'s adult nephew who was recovering from a gunshot wound to the head. He can't follow simple instructions on his own, like "move these items but not these". The driver asked me to have only lightweight items for nephew, which I accommodated by creating a separate group of lightweight items when I could have been working on other things, yet he would randomly pick up something heavy and attempt to move it on his own. He also picked up random items I had not packed when I expressly told them multiple times not to take, as I planned to move them myself. He definitely put things in the truck that I did not intend. He stacked 6 totes on top of a small tote and they all tipped over when he walked away. ****** stated they are not responsible for items I packed myself, but I could see footprints on the tops of my boxes. I had to sign a form saying everything was delivered in acceptable condition. I asked how I would know that without having everything unpacked and the driver said if I found anything wrong I could just call customer service. I wish I would have read the reviews on the BBB before hiring them. I would have given zero stars if I could have.

  This moving company is absolutely the worst! I had them move from a one bedroom apartment to another. I bought furniture when I moved in and it had never been moved before. They scratched almost everything and my entertainment center has two shelves missing as well as the hardware to put it back together. On top of that, the driver yelled and argued with me and his coworker. The coworker walked away, (I don't blame him) and it took over an hour to replace him. Needless to say, my move took longer than it should have and it took me another two days to finish. I was asked to submit a claim, but it's to the owner, not their insurance provider. So, I'm not counting on a fair resolution.

  I agree with a comment below: Stay away from this company!To summarize: we received a low offer to make the move and were charged a lot more. The company had been advised that we were moving to another city 4 hours away, to an apartment on the third floor with, of course, an elevator. The young men who did the packing, moving and driving were hardworking and very nice. The owner is the problem! His response to my complaint filed with the BBB is full of falsehoods and exaggerations. After losing two lamps, one a handmade, breakable ceramic lamp which they left on the truck and finally shipped to me was very badly packed in a box too small with no bubble wrap and very little stuffing, resulting in it being smashed into multiple pieces.The owner responded to the BBB by stating that was willing to pay me $300. When I accepted his offer, he was very quick to e-mail me a form to sign stating that I would make no further complaints and that the check would be mailed within 7 days of his receipt of the form.I have the original receipt for Certified Mail from the **** showing that I mailed the form to him on 8/30/22. It is now Sept. 26 and I have received nothing, nor does he return phone calls.I will continue to make complaints until he executes his end of the agreement.BUYER BEWARE!

  Stay away from this company! I hired them to move my family from my three bedroom house...what a mistake!! Incompetent crew used an improperly assembled dolly and destroyed my refrigerator and dresser. The dresser did not have a scratch on it until Smart Move touched it. They also broke a glass top for a computer workstation and damaged an entertainment system. For all of the damage I got a little over $500.
