Terrible service that is now just all about selling the next 'plan.' Fristrating and irritating when a product you want to use becomes a tool for the provider to sell themselves to you! You have to navigate around the sales pitches. We are not the data, godaddy, We used to by your customer. Wake up and be nice again.GoDaddy.com LLC

January 5, 2025 - Letter to GoDaddy Management Team,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the services and customer support I have received from your company, as detailed below. This letter serves as a formal complaint and outlines the specific issues I have encountered.
Misrepresentation of Services
When purchasing the Marketing Basic service on December 27, 2024, I was assured by your representative, ******, that your team would make the requested changes to my website and show me how to maintain and update them in the future. After purchasing the service, I was informed that your team does not provide training for customers, directly contradicting the information I was given.
Inadequate Customer Support
Following updates to my site by your design team, three of the five pages were left with missing images, and the missing images had been deleted from the media library. When I reached out for assistance, I faced language barriers and inconsistent information. Representatives were unable to resolve the issues effectively or direct me to someone who could.
Lack of Accountability
Despite assurances from ****, the Website Design Team Manager, that a refund would be processed for the failed Marketing Basic service, I experienced significant delays, call transfers, and a lack of follow-up. The situation was further exacerbated by your team’s refusal to process a refund due to an arbitrary 48-hour window policy, even though the problems were clearly caused by your team’s shortcomings and I reported the problems within 24 hours of the purchase of the service.
Unprofessional Communication
I was repeatedly transferred between representatives, subjected to scripted responses, and left without clear solutions. This experience was frustrating and eroded my confidence in your company.

Easy to enter your billing information and credit card number. Near impossible to get assistance beyond that, and even more difficult to close and delete your account. Go elsewhere for your web hosting and web assistance services.GoDaddy.com LLC

We thank you for sharing your candid feedback.GoDaddy takes account security and the security of our customer's products seriously. They describe their inability to close an account because it contains active products. In this instance, the active product is Domain Ownership Protection. This premium add-on service provides proxy contact details for a domain's WHOIS information and protects against the domain's cancellation, expiration, or transfer. Domain names with this service cannot be canceled or transferred until the Domain Ownership Protection is downgraded. The steps to downgrade Domain Ownership Protection are found at: ******************************************************************************** Once they have removed this product, they can follow the steps to close their account; instructions can be found at this link: ************************************************************** We welcome the opportunity to connect with you in the hopes of resolving any outstanding concerns and can be reached at ************************************************Review fromDenise B

This Company has used my credit cards to continue to charge me for services that I did not request. They have attacked all my Capitol One cards, Credit One cards and now my ******* account. They continue to charge me, and when we call to complain, they said they will refund the charges and never do. This has to stop.GoDaddy.com LLC

They are the worst customer service and tech support. I wasted 1 1/2 hours of my time, they did not know what my domain was after asking multiple times, did not know the products I subscribed and paid for, then, refused to perform the services I requested. The tech support told me I needed to understand from his perspective why he refused to provide me with a service. I was told that GoDaddy provided the service and I needed to use that service not a 3rd party service. Then after stating I would file a complaint, the tech *** said he would provide the service and after 30 minutes, sent me a link to do it myself. Then after calling to speak with a supervisor, I was placed on hold for another hour and then they disconnected the call. I have another service with them that doesn't work and was with tech support multiple times and it never works.I will not renew any domains or website hosting or email with GoDaddy. I will be looking for a new domain provider and website host. Do Not Use GoDaddy.GoDaddy.com LLC

GoDaddy's business practices are quite frustrating. I renewed my service and paid for a full year, but after a couple of months, I decided to cancel because I found a better website option. I expected to receive a refund for the unused portion of my payment, but they informed me that their refund policy only allows refunds within 30 days of payment. I've been a loyal customer for eight years, and when I finally needed assistance and understanding, I was met with indifference. I still hold a domain with them, and instead of a refund, I hoped to get a credit towards my domain, but unfortunately, they do not offer credits either.GoDaddy.com LLC

I purchased a domain for $1,892 through GoDaddy's auction on December 1, 2024, under the promise that the transfer would be completed within 120 days. After 26 days of delays, excuses, and poor communication, GoDaddy canceled the transaction, claiming the seller no longer owned the domain. This raises serious concerns about their ability to verify ownership and manage their auction platform with integrity.GoDaddy initially claimed the seller owned the domain but later reversed this, exposing a failure to conduct basic due diligence. Selling domains without verifying ownership not only undermines the auction process but also creates significant risks for buyers who rely on their platform in good faith. For nearly a month, GoDaddy held my payment, causing delays in business plans and ticket sales for an important event, which directly relied on securing this domain. This disruption was avoidable had they managed the process competently.Adding to the frustration was GoDaddys abysmal customer service. I was repeatedly cold-transferred, denied access to supervisors, and misrepresented in follow-up communications. Instead of resolving the issue, their representatives wasted time and failed to provide clear answers, making the situation even worse. The lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable for a company of this size. The sellers inability to deliver the domain and GoDaddys facilitation of the auction raise red flags about potential fraudulent activity. If the seller falsely claimed ownership, GoDaddy is complicit through negligence. This situation reflects systemic flaws in their processes, and I believe there may be grounds to escalate this issue further.I will be taking next steps, including reporting this matter to *****, filing a complaint with the ***, and consulting legal counsel to ensure accountability. I strongly advise others to avoid GoDaddy's auction platform, as the risks and lack of accountability are far too great.GoDaddy.com LLC

We thank you for sharing your candid feedback.Premium Domains listed on our platform are not offered by GoDaddy directly; we provide a marketplace for domain owners that enables the exchange of funds for the expected delivery of a domain. When delivery fails, it is neither our obligation nor in our capability to "force" delivery of the domain, especially if ownership has since changed hands.A full refund for the premium domain name purchase was processed on December 26, 2024.We welcome the opportunity to connect with you in the hopes of resolving your outstanding concerns and can be reached at ************************************************Jide G

Thank you for your response. However, your reply fails to address the critical issues at the heart of my complaint, and it further demonstrates a lack of accountability and understanding of your responsibilities as a marketplace provider. I would like to highlight several key problems with your statement:1. Failure to Verify Ownership:As the operator of a marketplace, GoDaddy has a responsibility to ensure that the items being auctioned meet basic standards of authenticity and ownership. By allowing a domain to be listed without verifying the sellers ownership, you facilitate a flawed and potentially fraudulent transaction. The claim that you cannot "force" delivery after ownership has changed hands highlights the systemic failure in your process. A legitimate marketplace must verify ownership before allowing a domain to be listed for sale.2. Breach of Trust:Your response dismisses the expectation that buyers should be able to trust the integrity of transactions on your platform. By failing to provide due diligence and then denying responsibility when issues arise, GoDaddy creates a marketplace **** with risk for buyers. Hosting a service without taking responsibility for its integrity undermines the purpose of offering such a platform.3. Delayed Refund and Business Impact:While you processed a refund on December 26, 2024, this came only after 26 days of delays, misinformation, and disruption to my business. The refund does not compensate for the lost time, opportunity, and damage to my business plans caused by your platform's negligence. A refund does not absolve you of the responsibility for the harm caused.4. Neglecting Accountability as a Marketplace Host:While you may claim that GoDaddy merely acts as a facilitator, this does not absolve you of accountability for the transactions that occur on your platform. If GoDaddy profits from the sale of domains and promotes its auction platform, you bear responsibility for the integrity of those transactions. Any assertion to the contrary reflects a disregard for your role in enabling these exchanges.5. Deficient Customer Service:Your response ignores the issues I raised about poor communication and customer service. Repeated cold transfers, denied access to supervisors, and lack of meaningful resolution indicate systemic shortcomings in your customer support. These deficiencies further erode trust in your companys ability to manage issues effectively.6. Potentially Facilitating Fraud:By allowing domains to be listed without verifying ownership, GoDaddy creates a system where fraudulent listings can occur. Even if you are not directly responsible for a sellers misrepresentation, your platform facilitates such activity through negligence. This is a serious concern that requires immediate corrective action, not dismissive statements. What GoDaddy Should Address:Implement robust ownership verification processes before allowing domains to be listed on your auction platform.Provide transparency about the steps taken to ensure the integrity of transactions.Offer compensation beyond refunds to address business losses caused by your platform's failures.Overhaul customer service to ensure accountability and professional communication.Until these systemic issues are resolved, buyers cannot trust GoDaddys auction platform, and your company risks losing credibility in the marketplace. I urge you to take these concerns seriously and provide a meaningful response that reflects accountability and a commitment to improvement.
