    Our AC was serviced by Profab within the last year. When it went out on July 2, we called them first. The tech arrived and within minutes announced that our compressor was blown. He did not have any diagnostics to support his claim and I didn't think to ask. He said it would cost $3000-4000 dollar to replace the compressor and it might last a year or two. Or we could get an entire system for around $9000. We decided to get a second opinion. ******** came out, did the diagnostics, showed us that the compressor was fine, and isolated the problem as a TXV valve plus we needed three pounds of refrigerant. He ordered the valve overnight air, charged the unit with refrigerant and did two service calls. Total cost $1350. Needless to say we will tell everyone we know to avoid Profab as they are in the business of selling AC units, not servicing them.
