The side door fell off my VMI converted 2012 ******** while I was visiting my goddaughter in **************. Yes, completely off. I live in *******. The mobility company in the area said they didn't know when they could fix it. Feeling I didn't have other options to get home, I purchased a 2024 ****** Sienna with a Vantage Mobility conversion ****** for over $90k. It wasn't long before problems started. First the fuel sensor went - the van wouldn't show that I had a gas. Then I started getting Airbag Malfunction notifications. After second attempt and me sitting in the mobility dealership all day (which is an hour from where I live), it appeared all was well. Then the ramp issues started. I would have to hold down the out button to deploy the ramp and have the van kneel. The ramp started to get temperamental and wouldn't deploy if parked with the slightest slope. I also intermittently would get the Airbag Malfunction notification again. I would simply turn off the van and turn it back on and **** it was gone. After filling the tank recently it took ***** minutes to register I had a full tank.I was trying to get to my 10k mile service to avoid the extra drive to the mobility dealer. Then the ramp died. Luckily I was parked in my niece's driveway this time. I had it towed to the mobility dealer and they believe, as well as Vantage Mobility, that the ramp panel is fried. I was advised the part wouldn't be in for a week. So now I'm exploring trading it in at a $30k loss after 7 months of ownership and less than 9k miles on it. Wish I had been told there were issues with this conversion or had done some research. The van is beautiful but I'm not confident that something else will happen, and god forbid it happens when I'm alone on a highway.

We are writing to formally express our dissatisfaction with the ****** Sienna Hybrid 2022 conversion we purchased for our adult son, who is wheelchair-bound, through Universal Motion. This vehicle was converted by VMI and cost us nearly $100,000. Over the past two years, we have encountered persistent and serious issues with this vehicle, making it unreliable and unsafe for useespecially for a person with a disability in a wheelchair. The issues we have faced include:Hybrid system malfunction: This has occurred four times, with the car stopping dead on the road on two occasions, which is extremely dangerous.Air conditioning failure: The air conditioner stopped working, making travel uncomfortable and potentially hazardous, particularly in warm weather.Water leakage: Water has been pooling on the floor inside the car.Extended repair times: Every time we bring the vehicle to Universal Motion for repairs, we are left without a car for more than a week. On one occasion, while VMI covered a rental, we were charged an additional $500 due to price differences.Additional costs: We have been forced to rely on taxis during these extended periods without the vehicle, incurring extra expenses. Most recently, the hybrid system malfunction has returned less than a month after the last repair. Still in Universal Motion shop for second week and we are terribly needing this car for our son.Given the high cost of this vehicle, it is unacceptable to continue experiencing these problems. We expected a reliable and safe vehicle, but this one has proven otherwise.

Horrible experience. van has less than 7K miles. It has been in the shop MULTIPLE times. It's had to be towed. And it's dead yet again. We were trying to take our son to the emergency room, but the van was dead. We had to call an ambulance. Spent two weeks in the shop. Came back and worked one time. Then dead again. The local dealer has been trying diligently to get some response and help from VMI to no avail. And we aren't the only ones. There are several from our small local dealer who are having the same issues. We can't just use another vehicle. Our son is 170lbs and wheelchair bound. This van needs to be reliable for emergencies. Right now it's a $100K paperweight. I think we may need to look into a lawsuit, possibly even class action.
