Subject: URGENT WARNING: Stay Away from Deceptive Auto Repair Scams!Dear Friends,Its time to expose the truth. Sun Devil Auto in ************* has been preying on unsuspecting customersespecially senior citizensby using scare tactics and deception to push unnecessary car repairs. This is not just bad businessits outright *************** NOT let them manipulate you! Protect yourself and others by taking these steps:- Never Agree Immediately: If they claim your vehicle needs urgent work, take a deep breath and get a second opinion.- Demand Proof: Insist on a full written estimate and an explanation of why each repair is truly necessary.- Walk Away: If they pressure you, refuse their service and find a trustworthy mechanic.- Warn Others: Spread the word to friends and family so they dont fall into this trap.Honest businesses dont need fear tactics to make money. Sun Devil Auto at Power and ********* in **** is by far the epitome of auto shop RIP-OFF! In late 2019 my mom was having troubles with her ****** on a 2005 Trailblazer. I took it in and was told my ****** was shot and I needed it rebuilt at a cost of *******. The vehicle only had about 45k original miles at this time, it was my moms car. Mom loved her car and wanted it fixed. 5 years later 2024 the car has 100k miles. Mom pasted away in late 2020 gave us the car, we use it considerably more than she did. In late ***************************** the floorboard and shortly after got a ckc eng light. I plugged my OBD and found it was a trans code for the torque converter clutch solenoid. I went ahead and authorized it, they said I needed another transmission rebuild which would cost ******* now. Furthermore, they said the torque converter was coming apart and there was some water in the trans fluid. I asked if there was anything they could do for me because the trans was only 5 years old and had only 50k in miles since the last rebuild they did? I was told NO it was out of warranty and they wouldnt do anything. Told them do not touch it, Ill come pick it up. I picked it up and they charged me ****** for absolutely nothing. Told a friend about this they knew a small trans shop that they had used ***** Transmission. Spoke to **** the owner, he checked it out and wondered how they could diagnose the problem without at least pulling the pan off. Nevertheless, he checked it with his computer on a test drive, looked at the fluid and said he saw nothing wrong with it. We decided to take a trip to ************** about 3500 miles round trip, not one problem. Now, about 2 weeks ago my son takes his 2013 ****** Tacoma in for an oil change. When he picks it up they tell him his trans output shaft seal is leaking and for ******* they can fix. He gets his truck and we take it to ***** Transmission to see ****. **** changed the seal for ***** not the ******* Sun Devil wanted.Review frombob n

Used Sun Devil previously but wil NEVER again. Took truck in to ask for cost of changing out canister pirge valve. Said they'd get back to me. Net day mechanic called my wife and siad front desk *** couldn't remember what I needed? Went back to sun Devil for same estumate and they said it would cost $195 to open the hood and see if they could determine the problem. I can open my own hood for free and I already explaind the issue. ******! Don't waste your time or money dealing with this organization. Do not go to Sun Devil Auto located on ************************************************They are dishonest, crooked and do not take responsibility for their errors and liars! I have gone to this location for over 8 years and had fully trusted them with my 3 year old ***** CRV. I had them do an oil change as usual, I noticed that oil had a been leaking and was getting worse. I decided to take it in to have it looked at. After an hour and 20 minutes one of their technicians told me I needed an oil pan. I was shocked? I asked him how that happens and his response was that it was due to wear and tear and it isn't uncommon for older vehicles. I mentioned that my car was only 3 years old? He immediately asked if I had an Extended Warranty and if I had it, to give it to him so he could order the stuff and get working on it right away. I asked him what the cost was and was quoted $1,706.00. I told him I was going to get in touch with my ***** dealership and found out that they had damaged my vehicle by ruining the threads on the bolt. The technicians are poorly trained and made costly mistakes that started with an oil change. Ruined the thread the bolts and ruined my oil pan. Therefore, I was unable to use my warranty and had to pay ***** out of pocket. I spoke with ******* the manager and she would only help me if I had them do the work, they pay the labor, I would have to pay for the parts! Why, would I take it there? I have a bitter taste and am quite disappointed in the company and not wanting to take care of their loyal customers! What happened to doing what is right and morals? They won't admit their wrongs. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! They like to steal money from you. They leave things loose to make you bring your car back in and charge you more. They are the most untrustworthy place. Dont waste your time or money with this placeSun Devil Auto

I wouldn't even give them a star.The technicians are poorly trained and made costly mistakes that started with an oil change. Ruined the threads on two oil pans.Were unable to diagnosis a cracked valve cover.Sun Devil Auto

After 10 plus years at this location with excellent service, management changed. Had requested a oil change and road trip ready service. "Recommended" maintenance included new battery (tested next day at *** at 97%) oil pan replacement, brakes and filters (air and cabin).Agreed to filters if on site. After reminding them brakes were replaced here last spring, checked again and they were "fine". During road trip had to have 6lbs air put in each tire. Oil changed required light came on. Oil was full and to have sensor reset. Filters were not on site and after 2 hrs, they let me go home because it was "taking too long" to get the filters delivered. Did not apply my coupon and after 2 hours and $79 for an oil change I was out... for the last time. Never going back.Review fromGerard R

On 2/23/2024, we took our 2018 ****** Rav 4 for rear brakes and an oil change. The total bill was $607.04.The oil change was $59.99. Upon completion of work when my wife was given the bill, she was shocked! She told them ****** had quoted $301.00 after taxes. Your employee stated that Sun Devil was definitely less expensive than the dealer.About two months later we took our vehicle to the ****** dealership for an oil change and complained about the brakes squeaking. We were told that the shim kit was missing. We called your location back and told them about the problem.We were told that we would have to leave the vehicle all day to have that installed.After waiting 6 1/2 hours the first time and paying over $600.00, we shouldn't have to wait all day.Also, in closing, my wife inquired about a military discount. We were told that Sun Devil doesn't offer a military discount.I expect some action to be taken, otherwise, I will notify the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and any other media applicable.Sun Devil Auto

My mother, ***********************, took her vehicle to Sun Devil Auto Main St. on 3/30/24 to be serviced for a squealing noise upon engine startup. When we arrived, we met up with **** at the counter. My mother explained to him about the squealing noise upon startup from her 2011 Kia ***** **** then gave the diagnosis that it was fluid leaking on one of the belts - before bringing it into the garage to run diagnostics. **** explained to my mother that running a diagnostic could be a couple of hours since other vehicles were already in the garage being serviced. And after she agreed to leave it there at the garage [without signing a work order], **** assured us he'd have the car looked at. It was a little after 10 AM when Lyft came and got us to take us back home. Hours passed and still not a word from the garage about her car. And after several calls concerning her car with every explanation as to why **** didn't seem to know what was going on with her car, a noticeably agitaged **** finally agreed to her coming down to see about her car. Upon our arrival a bit after 3 PM, the car didn't seem to have been moved at all and we noticed the garage was closing for the day [the garage wasn't scheduled to close until 5 PM on Saturdays as advertised]. We went to the counter and noticed **** was no longer there. An older gentleman was there when he told us both that the garage didn't diagnose the car yet. I also noticed a service animal inside the lobby without a dog vest on indicating service animal. So, I walked out to the car as my mother was inside, and noticed the car had been sitting out apparently since we left it there at 10 AM that morning. That the interior compartment was hot, as were the seats. So my mother comes outside and I tell her about this. We decide to take it across the street to AutoZone. The techs there diagnosed the problem as either the starter or a loose belt - within two minutes.Sun Devil Auto
