This company is a scam. I sent in 3 textbooks all in good condition. They originally lost my package and then magically found them. Now they state that they have moisture damage and are not accepted. They want me to pay return shipping. These thieves should not be in business.

Hello Andrew, let me first apologize for the obvious miscommunication on our end. Two of your books were not processed on time due to a receiving delay which was relayed to our customer service department. They were eventually located and graded. The customer service agent Richard did promise to pay out the original quote and we will still honor the original quote. The reject emails are computer generated and unfortunately, were sent at the same time Richard sent you the payout confirmation email. This was just an unfortunate system miscommunication. Richard will follow up and confirm with you today. My apologies again as I know this reflects unfavorably on our organization.

I have had four books rejected by GoTextbooks. All of them were in very good condition, and all of them were rejected for "damage." They offered me 14 days to respond whether I want those books mailed back to me or destroyed. To mail back, I would have to pay them $4.95 each. Why not offer me a lower rate for the books (it is laughable that I have to pay a lower rate to begin with when you bought them from me). It is insulting that my books are not in my possession but I have to pay even more money to return (remember, money must be paid to mail the books to them!). How do I know you will destroy the books after 14 days --- where is the proof? Where are the pictures of the damage? I have a lot of questions and suspicions about this type of practice.

Is easy and they will buy back books my college’s book store will not (even though they sold them to me). Prices are decent and better than nothing and I don’t have to list them .

I purchased a brand-new book from amazon and was looking a company to buy my book back. Something quick and easy you would think. The book was quoted for 22 bucks and some change I believe, a lot less than what I purchased it for. I believe it was close to 200 bucks. I used it only a handful of time, did not draw in it or highlight it. Nothing. That book looked brand new when I mailed it back it. A few days later, I received an email that my book was denied due to "excessive wear" and tear. Now, unless UPS whom I have had a problem with let in a rapid bear into their delivery truck and destroyed my book or this is the company's signature move to not pony up the 20 bucks they quoted me. I know right 20 bucks isn't a lot and at this point I do not care if they give it to me or not, It is all a matter of principal. I sent them an email saying they can keep the 20 bucks and they can resale the textbook for what I am sure will be over 100 bucks. I did get an email back saying, the warehouse team will be given 7 businesses days to send me photos of the alleged "damaged book." Looking at that email just makes me laugh. I am still waiting for a response which I am sure will be an email with an excuse but at this point I will take my losses. Stay away from this disaster and do not fall for it like I did. I will be given this company a 1/5 only because the poor lady on the customer service end has to be the one that has to email out these excuses' emails was quick to give me back a response.

Hi William, we did confirm with our warehouse that your book was graded incorrectly. We have since emailed you to confirm your payout for the book you sent in. My apologies for any confusion. Please reach out to our customer service team again if you need further information.

This place is a scam!!!! I sent them two textbooks and turned to find out that they were rejected. Never got an email or reasoning on why they were rejected. I only found out when I logged into my account to check the status and it was rejected. The books were in decent condition with minimal highlighting if anything. Do not use this company.

Hello Brooke, I want to offer my apologies for the delay in notifying you regarding your sellback order. I have been in contact with our warehouse and they will be sending you a follow up email today 5/22/2024. Your items were rejected for condition issues. I will be sending you photos via email of your books showing the conditions they were received in. Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience.

I've used this service twice. With as much as my husband and I are paying for textbooks, and as negligible as HPB pays, it was wonderful to get paid, and get paid quickly. I will definitely be using them again.

They quoted me a price then rejected the books! Of course you get an answering machine when you try to call.

Hello, Allison; I see your order was previously rejected because your order was received 2 months after the original quote date of 11/14/2023. You were notified via email on 1/19 that you will still be issued your full payout amount. If you have any further questions, please reach out to our customer support team directly at [email protected].

This place is a SCAM! They quote you a price for your book and then keep it! I am a current law student who ordered a book for my crim law class and it was in perfect condition when I sent it to GoTextbooks. They got back to me via email stating my book was rejected! How so if it was in perfect condition! COLLEGE STUDENTS BEWARE OF THIS SITE! IT IS NOT A TRUST WORTHY SITE. THEY WILL TAKE AND KEEP YOUR BOOKS AND RESELL THEM TO INDIVIDUALS FOR TRIPLE THE PRICE!

Hello Pamela, unfortunately your book was not in usable condition. We have sent you pictures of the book we received. Also the book we received from you did not match the ISBN# you were quoted for. Your book has been returned you via UPS. If would like the return tracking information, please reach out to our support team at [email protected]. Thank you.

This is a SCAM. Broke college kids send in their textbooks being told they’ll get paid for them and then the company “rejects” them and KEEPS them to RESELL. I sent in two books in perfect condition and the more expensive one was “rejected” and I know will not receive the $60 they owe me for it. This company needs to be shut down.

The customer was contacted via email on 8/21/2023. Ciara's book was returned with tracking at her request. We do not have a record of any previous email communication from the customer concerning the status of her order. In the future, we request that the customer reach out to our customer support team at [email protected] so that we can resolve any issues promptly.
