  I recently bought a house that came pre-wired with a security alarm and camera system. I was given Kevin’s name and number to call for connecting the home’s services, so I did. I don’t doubt the level of expertise Kevin has; however, his ability to communicate effectively his appointment scheduling, pricing, and length of the job to be done were non-existent. He verbally agreed to a time to perform services as the “afternoon” on our first encounter. Called me right after lunch and acted like there was a scheduled time of 1:30p to perform the job. I asked him to come later in the day, thinking if there were other appointments, surely he would have given a dedicated window of time for mine. So, I missed him that day and we rescheduled, with a dedicated time of 8:30am a following Monday. He showed up late, no call or text to let me know he wouldn’t be arriving on time. He didn’t get a full assessment of the components within the house to make sure that everything was in the place it needed to be or that the previous owner left it before coming to perform his services. He didn’t even have the right equipment or access to agents that could turn the services on. I had to leave my home after 1.5 hours of waiting for any updates to go to a work meeting, and he acted as though I was the person that was late and unprepared. I called to reschedule after my meeting and was told that I would need to find someone else to do the service for “wasting [his] time.” What about my time? I took off work that first Friday to be available at my home. I took off a majority of this morning to be available. I don’t doubt that Kevin could have done an excellent job if he would have communicated properly and set the appropriate expectation for me as the consumer - who now has a half-baked security system that may or may not be activated or functional.
