I contacted Stanford Christian Academy in early January 2023 regarding my son and whether their program would be a good fit for him. They required that I pay a down payment of $325 before they would mail their questionnaire examination for a Stanford diploma. After further consideration and review of their program, we decided NOT to send my son to Stanford Christian Academy and I contacted them within 2 days to inform them, and they stated that they would NOT reimburse us the $325. They did NOT inform us that the questionnaire exam was non-reimbursable, but rather we could not review their questionnaire/curriculum until they had their money. Additionally, I could NOT verify their accreditation through the **************** and my son's school counselor had never heard of Stanford Christian Academy, which resulted in my decision to withdraw my son's application. Stanford Christian Academy claims that they have a fully accredited diploma on their website, but upon further investigation, the **************** does not have accreditation, nor licensing, nor approval requirements for private schools. This is incredibly misleading and so the validity of their program is questionable. Further, they did not inform me that their fee was non-refundable. Rather, they required the fee prior to the review of their questionnaire examination and curriculum materials. After I withdrew my son's application, I contacted the owner/president, Mr. ********************* numerous times. When he finally returned my phone call, he shouted at me on the phone when I requested a refund. He further stated that I should contact all the other private schools in the local area to inquire as to whether they would honor a refund for a withdrawn application. He then stated that I could use the application/questionnaire later on for my son, even though I specifically told him that he would be staying at his high school and receiving a diploma there. Given my experience, I would like BBB to consider the matter.
