Camellia Trophy is within two miles of my home, and today I stopped in to order a small nameplate for a piece of art. I had a pleasant experience as I picked out the item, gave my information and the instructions for engraving, and agreed on when it would be ready to pick up. I gave my credit card to the gentleman and after a long wait, a different man came out of the back and handed my card and two receipts to me. He said they showed where they had charged me and reversed the charges because they could not do the order. I asked why and he said they could not do it in time for Father's **** I asked what had changed since the gentleman who helped me said it could be done, and he said the other man was not aware of how many orders were back there, and told me to leave. As I asked when they could have it done, he told me to leave again threatened to call the police!!! There was NO reason for this, as I was calm, quiet, and polite. I saw the gentleman who had helped me earlier, seemingly hiding in the back, and said, "I certainly hope that this isn't because of ******'s mother." I was threatened again with police as I left. The "******'s mother" to whom I refer is the wife of the man who told me they would not do my order. ****** is my stepchild. ******'s mother has been completely absent from her life for over 2.5 years, which, though it is terribly sad and difficult, should have nothing at all to do with my ability to order a small nameplate. Certainly, nothing of a personal nature entered into my interaction with Camellia Trophy when I was refused business. The local Chamber of Commerce advised me to check if they could not do the order at all, or if they simply could not do it within the timeline we initially spoke about. I called the shop, and was told "It would cause too much conflict" if they did the order. So unprofessional and disappointing. Who knew that printing "*******" on a nameplate was this conflicting for the printer to accomplish? Snowflake.
