Ashley Furniture Homestore is umbrellaed under parent company Furniture Enterprises of Alaska. *********************, owner and operator has a monopoly on furnishings and mattress stores in Alaska. Perhaps that is why he believes he can get away with Bait and Switch tactics. Recently I discovered his company did not initially open a service agreement with ******************* for a five year extended Premium Protection Plan warranty his sales person solicited and billed my Synchrony account several hundred dollars for. After formal complaints, including notifying Alaska ************************* Consumer Protection Unit of the issue, ****** sneakily opened a .policy. He got caught when ******************* sent new policy paperwork with dates reflecting delays. When I learned the business owner selling extended warranty receives nearly 60% of plan charges, I demanded cancelation. Which can be done at any time, for any reason per Ashley Furniture Industries corporate mandates and Alaska state law. ********************* ignored certified letter to reimburse. After multiple exhausting weeks of notices, he finally responded arrogantly his store is an independent seller of Ashley products. He claims he can do whatever he wants because he is not bound to Ashley Industries customer policy/care/rights. Now we are forced to pursue small claims action for return.Read the fine print on contracts ****** has created at point of purchase. Do not take any thing said or promised by his sales staff as fact. Especially anything to do with after sale customer service. If you have experienced lack of warranty services or refusal to refund extended warranties on demand, file a consumer complaint with *************************. Hold Furniture Enterprises of Alaska accountable to their business license responsibilities to follow laws.
