More Connect Carbon Less Inc Energy Canadá Home Confort I am visually impaired) and the barrier (English is my third language and I am not completely proficient), ******* manipulated my lack of understanding of my consumer and human rights, and mental illness. 1. Under Ontario's consumer protection act, as of March 2018 door to door sellers are not permitted to solicite any HVAC systems or products. 2. Sellers are not permitted to use unfair practices to convince you to buy their product or service. you can cancel the contract at any time up to one year after you made the agreement. 3. According to the Ontario Energy Board: - Energy retailers are not permitted to sign homeowners up for a contract while they are at my home. - Energy retailers can still come to your home and give you information only. - Your utility bill is private. It contains personal information like your account number and energy usage. An energy retailer only needs this information if you decide to enter into a contract. To reiterate, I was never provided the following crucial items: - The energy contract upon signing up. (It was provided nearly nine months late). - A disclosure statement* with important information about energy contracts from the Ontario Energy Board - A price comparison sheet*, in the form approved by the Ontario Energy Board - 2) ****** Nest Protect Smart Detector 19.90* (1) ****** Nest Thermostat 19.95 CAD* (1) ****** Nest Hello Doorbell 19.95 CAD* NOTE these prices are according to the original form contract signed in May provided by *******. . They came to my door saying that Enbridge hired Morconnect to check gas bills in the area. I asked him to confirm that Enbridge had hired him, he said yes. I asked, "Why does Enbridge need to hire you if they have all my billing info?" I didn't get an answer, he just asked me if I wanted to buy a smart device. I then asked him what his name was, and he walked to my neighbour's house. Morconnect came by again the next month, and I had a similar interaction, but this time he offered me $25 off my bill. I asked to see an agreement so I could review the terms, he walked away. I thought these kinds of door-to-door sales were illegal in Ontario?

On May 2022 , A guy came to my door and claimed that he is from the gas company I have been registered and they are going door to door to provide $25 carbon offset one time refund for all their customers and I showed my interest for the refund. He asked for my ******** Account number and personal details to be written on the document that he had. I signed the document without knowing that I am signing a contract for 60months. He asked to made a call to their customer service and told me to say "Yes" to everthing over the phone. I work from home and was getting late for my work so I just said "Yes" to all the w Questions over the phone just because I trust ********. On my next gas bill I observed that I have received $25 carbon offset refund. Usually I do not check my full bill and I pay off the bill based on the amount mentioned on my emails. However in Janaury I realised by bill was high and went through the bill in details. and I saw charge of $33.84 as charge from other companies so I made a dispute and they called me (MorConnect) regarding the dispute. They told me that I am in agreement with them for 60 months on a monthly basis. I was shocked as I was never even given the copy of the agreement. She was asking me to give them $450 around as a cancellation fee to cancel agreement. I never received the agreement from them and Im just stuck with this **** company cus i dont want to pay the cancellation fee. * ** ***** ** **** **** **** ********** ** **** ******* ** ** **** ** *** ********* *********** ******* ******** ** * ************ **** I am not going to give up.. I am not sure If I will be getting any refund but I am sure that I want immediate cancellation without having to pay cancellation fee

On November 29 a girl came to my home and asked that we are overcharged for electricity bill and will be give $25 for few months and asked me to sign some paper and then she stood next to me to answer a call from company and asked me this is just a formality and she will assist me to answer. I followed her and today I checked I was charged almost $80 and when I contacted them they told me I have to pay $464 if I want to cancel this agreement which I know nothing about. I want to get rid off this agreement.

The representative came to our house and did not explain all the details of this plan. All he said was he could save us $25.00 on our gas bill but it ended up that they were charging us $33.84 a month for five years on our ********* gas bill. We tried to call and cancel the plan and they said they would email us a cancellation letter but never did.

Hello David, We are sorry to hear you may have had a negative experience. As a consumer in Ontario, you have the right to cancel this agreement within 10 days. We certainly did email you a cancellation letter to the email address that you had provided and called you to confirm cancellation.
