    After doing drain kitchen stack snaking at our condo unit (the Total Plumbing employee went down about 35 feet), TPM suggested and installed a back flow preventer for our kitchen drain in early January. This gave us hope that we would not have any issues with water backing up into our sink/condo. On Friday, March 21st, we had two incidents late in the evening where water had backed up into our sink. Our concierge/property management called another plumbing company and they came down and snaked 80 feet down. That plumber said the backflow preventer was NOT to code. Furthermore, the backflow preventer did NOT work. We contacted the owner of Total Plumbing (Vittorio) and asked for our money back for installing something that CLEARLY did not work. He said "if any particles or food gets stuck in the check valve and its in the open position it will not stay closed allowing water to pass the checkvalve". We are very careful not to throw any food down our drain. Vittorio stopped answering our emails and did not give us a refund.
