  They told my mother she needed about $2000.00 worth of work done on her car. It didnt seem right so I took her car to my mechanic two of them went over her car and nothing was wrong with it. The battery was a little low but nothing urgent. Everything on the estimate from Midas was false. She is a senior on a fixed income and she was very worried to even drive her car. It is just disgusting to try and take advantage of people like that. I wonder how many people they have ripped off that dont question what they say.

  I have checked our system for anyone with this last name in the past 6 months and have found no records. I would be glad to discuss this further with the customer in question and resolve or provide clarity on anything that was mentioned during the inspection. I provide honest and fair service to all my customers and will stand by that commitment.

  I had brake work done on 7th of March 2024. After I drove my car home I found that my parking brake had been adjusted and was no much nearer the end of the adjustment range. I went back and asked them to set the hand brake to the original setting. I was told a lot of nonsense about all car manufacturers recommend setting to 11 clicks. My car came from th factory not set to 11 clicks. The said at 4 clicks the cable would rust and break and would create allsorts of other unspecified problems.The also said that setting the parking brake was difficult and that I would not be able to do it. As an engineer I knew that they were lying. I sent a complaint to there head office which resulted in an angry call from the local store, denying what had been said about my not being able to set the parking brake and repeating the fairy tales of what would be the result of setting to 4 clicks . I have also reached the conclusion that $1500 was an overcharged for a simple repair on one wheel.

  I have contacted **************** regarding his brake work and told him most manufacturers recommend the handbrake setting to be at 7-8 clicks before parking brake fully holds the vehicle. If parking brake was adjusted to 4 clicks then there was the possibility of the parking brake stretching and possibly breaking later on. I offered to adjust it to his setting if he so chose but declined my offer. I never told **************** that he could not adjust the parking brake himself, it is a fairly simple procedure to perform. We did not charge $1500 for one wheel. We replaced rear brake ************* as well as a left rear brake caliper and both front stabilizer links. I feel like this review is severely misrepresenting the outcome of the situation.

  I do not recommend going to this location. Ever. My son took our vehicle here recently for exhaust work and it did not go well at all. A complaint was sent to the corporate office for Midas (as directed within a variety of their online reviews) over a month ago and there has been no response to date. Again, I advise everyone to avoid the Bells Corners Midas location.
