  Home Porch & Patio Kits were exactly what we were looking for! We added a 30' patio addition on the back of our home and wanted to screen it in. The estimates we received were crazy high. We are avid DIY'ers and started researching how we could do it ourselves. The big box stores didn't carry all the supplies we wanted. After extensive research and quotes from a few other online companies we went with HP&PK. Not only did their quote knock the rest out of the ball park, their website is jam packed with information and specific details on installation. We worked with Glenn and had numerous changes to our plan. He was always fast to reply to our emails and able to answer all the questions we had. We placed our order and in about 6 weeks our supplies were delivered to us in South Carolina. We took our time reviewing the instructions and our plan before we began. In no time we had the process figured out and we had the framing up in just a few days. If you know how to use a saw, drill, can measure and read/follow instructions, you too can do this. We highly recommend HP&PK!!

  Worked with Glenn on creating a screen enclosure on our "covered" patio .... he was very professional and courteous thru out the process .... * ***** ** ******* *** ****** ***** *** *** **** ******** **** *** ******* ****** ** ***** *** **** ******* ****** ******** .... unfortunately, "screen enclosures" are virtually unheard of in the Pittsburgh area .... everyone I contacted wanted to build me a $20,000 + three season room .... then I found "Home Porch & Patio Kits Inc" on the internet .... had the materials delivered as designed and installed the enclosure by myself (wife did assist with actual screen installation) .... we are very pleased with the final product .... we are especially happy in that we had so many types of screen options .... we choose the "high visibility" screen and have almost the same "unaltered" view of the river in our back yard ....   We ordered a kit to enclose our 8' x20' back porch. I liked the extruded aluminum because there's never going to be any twisting as with other materials , and it offers the ability to be as accurately installed as your measurements and skill level. Their system is also designed to be forgiving of the slab pitch , and upper beam problems ,if it's slightly out of level. I chose to use painted pressure treated 2x4 s and tap cons on the slab to work off of. That allowed for a water run out opening under one of the screen sections , and fastening the U channels with torx screws. I used a portable bandsaw and bench sander to cut and square the pieces. That made for some very nice fitting corners everywhere until you measure wrong. I found the best way to line up the horizontal 2" sections and attach with their angle brackets was this. A piece of tape on each vertical post first. From left to right make a line with a 4' level at each piece from one to the next. Drill two small holes in a short piece of the U channel and make a drill guide. Line the top edge of the guide with the mark , and the holes you drill will put all your angle brackets level around the project. That is what is noticeable the most , and not slab differences. The screening part was a learning experience. Don't make it too tight, mess your first one up ,and do it over a few times. Take your time ,it's not bad at all. If you have OCD , leave it behind when you're putting the screen in . I am now a 'screen whisperer '. Not only are we pleased with the final outcome, but working with Glenn has been great ! He always replied quickly when I reached out to him . I wanted to add that the screen door arrived assembled ,and the hardware and closer are first class . Thanks !! Jeff
