    We booked the Oakview Lodge and Marina for a reunion, and our portion of the bill was $1515.00 for a week's stay. A month before our booking was to begin we had a family medical emergency and we asked Oakview Lodge for a refund or credit on the amount we paid. The owners refused. We believe they should reimburse or provide a credit for customers when they are given enough notice. A proper reimbursement policy is necessary when running a business, and when taking large sums of money from customers.

    Hello ******, as I explained to your wife ********, the booking that was made by your group was for the entire lodge. I am sorry that you and ******** couldn't attend the gathering, but the rest of the group occupied the lodge. We have a very detailed rental agreement, that your group lead read and signed. I shared it with ********, and if you'd like to read it, and she no longer has a copy, I will gladly share it with you as well.As stated, the rental is for the entire lodge, not by room, and I receive payment from one person. How a group decides to split costs is up to the members of the group. I hope this clarifies things for you. The rest of your group seemed very pleased with their stay, and have already rebooked for next summer.
