    A Grant Thornton accountant was recommended to me by my investment manager after I brought up an issue I was having with the IRS. That local account wasn't equipped to help me but connected me with their US tax expert in Halifax who would take on the work. We exchanged introductory emails, I explained my tax situation and was immediately met with silence. Weeks of ignored emails and phone messages later, I had to get the local accountant to reach out on my behalf for an update. This caused Halifax guy to finally have a secretary schedule a phone meeting with me. I gave them a date and time but they never called and I never heard from them again. I run a multi-million dollar corporation and was looking to spend tens of thousands of dollars with this company on what I would consider pretty straightforward accounting. If they don't care about retaining my business, do you think they'll care about yours? Avoid these people at all cost. They will waste months of your time.
