If I could give this company no stars, I would. They are terrible to deal with. Specifically ***** ****** who has terrible customer service and no sense of how to come to resolution other than talk over you and try to gas light your issues. I was informed 2 days prior to my booked appointment that it was to be rescheduled due to their lack of staffing. I booked over a month prior to this giving them the information that this needs to be done prior to 18 October. THEIR office employee chose 05 October and I agreed that I could take HALF A DAY off work to be here when they technicians showed up. When I stated that their lack of staff shouldn't come back as my issue, I was told how much pressure she ***** was under. After asking her to stop calling me "my dear" 3 times she continued to tell me that my issues were not as important as others and I should consider the people who don't have hot water or heat, stating that there was flooding in the province (in July) and it was getting cold at night. I told her I was aware of this but was leaving for over a month with a tenant in the house that is not responsible for the short comings of their company. I requested their managers information, this was not provided " they will call you when they have time but this won't fix anything they will rebook you for March next year". This was not the first issue I've had with Best Burner and have since canceled my services from Aabel fuels as they are the parent company.

Do not work with this company. If everything goes well you are fine, but if they mess up (and well they may) they will find a way to say it's not their fault and refuse to make good. In our case, after they installed a new furnace, we had a major leak because they had not put on a backflow preventor which is required by code. By the time a new technician discovered it, we were beyond the one year warranty. I asked to speak with the manager at Best Burners but was contacted by another agent. She flatly denied their responsibility, said that someone else could have come in and caused the problem (What? A backflow preventer thief?) She invited me to contact the BBB or my lawyer and said her company wanted nothing more to do with me. I have owned this home for 43 years and never received such callous treatment from any company we have dealt with. They have no regard for their customers nor the reputation of their company. We have switched to Scotia Fuels. There, you can get through to the manager, and he has offered me a discount on the job of fixing Best Burners error. Now that is good business practice. Live and learn.

I would not recommend this company. I had been using them to service my furnace, but will no longer. Last June I turned off my hot water furnace, having bought an electric hot water heater and a heat pump. Two months later my furnace developed a water leak, and a Best Burner technician, without even opening the furnace and looking inside, condemned it. On the $150 invoice he wrote, "Condemned. No good." He also suggested I get a quote from Best Burner for a new furnace. I got a second opinion. An independent furnace technician (Cando), who was recommended by the furnace manufacturer, opened the furnace, cleaned it, deduced the leak had come from the stovepipe, and turned the furnace back on. It has worked perfectly since then, heating my basement through the fall and winter thus far. The head technician who came from Best Burner to quote on a new furnace was surprised to find mine running fine, thought that mistakes had been made, and said he thought it was fair that I be reimbursed by the company. Best Burner refused and stood by their condemnation. After quite a bit of research on this, I can say that while it is not recommended to turn a furnace on and off many times, turning it off once will not destroy it. Who are these guys to condemn a furnace, anyway? I suggest that you stay away from Best Burner if you are looking for a competent and honest company to service and maintain your furnace.
