Quinn Energy installed a heat pump in my home two years ago. ***** *** ******** ** *** "**** ******* ********" ****** ** ** ******** ** ** ****** ********** *** ** ******* ****** *********, walking around my yard with his shirt off, cursing and swearing. This very unprofessional sight made my pregnant wife and two young children very uncomfortable and scared. Installation crew was very friendly and courteous, other than they took the lazy route and cut a joist. Panel circuit labels were mostly incorrect, which is dangerous when trying to isolate a circuit. Year one was a mild winter, no issues. Year two we experienced normal Nova Scotia weather. Heat pump defrost settings were incorrectly set by Quinn Energy for Nova Scotia weather causing the unit to freeze and run on backup heat (hello expensive power bill!). Owner and Technician both said Quinn Energy left the defrost at the factory setting, which has proven to be unsuitable for our climate by the amount of units they needed to adjust this year. Quinn Energy had the audacity to send a $200 bill for the less than 5 minutes it took their technician to flip the high temperature limit switch. $200/hr is NOT industry standard for calls, nor was it disclosed in advance that they charge above and beyond industry standard for below industry level service. I even purchased their ten year extended labor warranty and was assured it covered all labor costs. As Quinn Energy did not install the unit with suitable settings for our climate and tries to charge to fix their mistakes that they said would be covered for ten years, I would strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere. They do not stand behind what they sell. note that this review was posted after two weeks and multiple attempts to speak with somebody at Quinn Energy regarding the bill. Nobody would return the phone call.

FYI THIS IS EXACT SAME POST CUSTOMER MADE ON GOOGLE REVIEW WITH A 1 STAR

** ***** sent an auditor out to ensure the service cut offs are done correctly and safely. They watched us to do the cut off and service and it was done to there satisfaction.

Our gloves we have must be re inspected with Nspower every 4 months, previously they only needed to be inspected annually.

So I think thats what you are talking about.

We were not stripped of our service provider status, and we passed the inspection that day. In fact our journeyman are service providers for ** ***** and we are a preferred contractor and carry out multiple inspections through out Nova Scotia every day and respond to emergency service repairs to help support their line-crews.

Your project was completed to your satisfaction and ** ******s 2 years ago, panel labelled ,200amp service upgrade, central heat pump, duct work mods, because you paid your bill and were completely satisfied.

For you to bring up a bunch of complaints 2 years later shows that you are purely exaggerating out of frustration that we billed you 200$ for a service call. You were told there would be a charge for 200$ prior to us coming out.

Just so you know your warranty covers pretty much everything , but NOT diagnostics (industry standard).

It costs us money to do these service calls, warranty does not pay for these. 200$ diagnosis for a central heat pump is standard or even low because many charge closer to 300$.

Also on that service call we adjusted parameters of operation. The factory settings are satisfactory for our climate we adjusted given the current weather conditions. This snow storm wasnt avg winter weather either it was actually the worst snow storm we had in 20 years.

On your heat pump WE checked the pressures and replaced your air filter that was completely clogged in your air handler.

May I remind you it is CRUCIAL that you replace these filters every 3 months, clogged filters will result in your unit icing up and wear and tear on your compressors fan motors etc.

Now If you had the decency to contact me directly we could have resolved this professionally between parties, I could have possibly waived the 200$ for you but now it is too far gone considering you 1 star us online and now a complaint on BBB to attack our credibility.

Your bill must be paid or we will not service or repair your heat pump ever again. Your warranty is not in house and any contractor can use it for compensation to yourself.

Just understand they will charge you diagnostics fees and or admin fees because processing warranty claims are expensive.

    HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY
