I engaged this company to install their water guard system in my basement. I was somewhat familiar with the system as a family member resident in another province had it installed several years ago. The work was originally scheduled over two days starting on April 11, 2024. The start date was moved up to April 10th by the company. The team of three men worked a full day on April 10th and only half a day on April 11th leaving early to return to the property on Park Street where they had been prior to my job. The water guard system has a built-in gap (3/8 of an inch) between the floor and the wall. In my case, the gap was between 4 1/2 inches in and around the sump pump and between 2 1/2 inches and 1 inch. There was no effort made to fill those gaps before the team left. There was also an old pipe adjacent to the sump pump through which cool air was evident and which was left unsealed. Concerned about the 4 1/2 inch gap and the unsealed pipe, I purchased gravel to fill in that gap and also fashioned a rudimentary cover for the unsealed pipe. Despite those efforts, a mole rat made its way into my house through the remaining smaller gaps. Prior to this, I had been in correspondence with the company regarding two walkway stones which had been dug up to accommodate the installation of the buried discharge line and just left on top of my lawn. They did offer to send a rep with a bucket of gravel to fill in the remaining gaps and that was done on June 24th. Despite promising to move the walkway stones in July, that was never done. There was regular correspondence with the company from April through August when I was asked to deal with ******. I last spoke to him on Sept 4th when he promised to get back to me in a couple of days. I have not heard from him again. I regret ever engaging this company for this project.

First and foremost I would like to apolgize for the way you are feeling towards the installation. Its very important to us that you are 100% satisfied with our workmanship. I would like the opportunity to explain the installation. Anne Weaver has a thick layer of spray foam covering all her basements walls. The watergaurd we installed required us to jack hammer out the floor and place the watergaurd on top of the footing (level along the wall) - that captures any water that may enter behind the spray foam and up through the floor-wall joint. Due to the fact the spray foam is not a consistent thickness the watergaurd is a thick corrugated plastic and can not bend to adapt to different wall imperfections. To which, she asked if we could just "fill" in. I explained in great detail that is NOT recommended as that would enable water to enter the watergaurd from the wall area. The #1 reason watergaurd is installed is to capture and eliminate water that enters from the walls and/or floor wall joint. That process is working 100% ( Anne's pump is discharging properly - meaning water is entering as it should be ) and should we agree to do what she is asking it will compromise the performance of the system to work properly. However, if that is what Anne would like done, we do not mind doing so at NO Charge. The "pipe" Anne is referencing - I do not have any information on. Our scope of work was to install watergaurd, but if there is a plumbing line coming into the home, a we can defiantly cap it, or a local plumber is another option. That is not our scope of work. But don't mind helping you with that. The discharge line exited the home and it required the removal of 2 patio stones, to which our crew removed and placed back in position with the gravel and excess dirt that was on site. Gerard had made contact in Sept and it was agreed between Anne and Gerard that he would return to go over this option again when he was in Cape Breton again and Anne was ok with that.
