      I hired Armstrong Installers to repair the motor of an old, non-functioning central vac. The owner took it to his shop and said it worked fine. He had replaced brushes, relay and a plug. It worked for 5 minutes for me before dying again. Owner then said the vacuum wasn't salvageable and he would return that week with a new CanaVac central vac for me to purchase. Four months later I haven't heard from him.
      I then bought an electrolux and their technician looked at my old vacuum with me. He pointed out that there had been no repair attempt of the motor although the electrical plug had been replaced. The motor had been put back into the canister without being secured so would create a fire hazard if used.
      I went to the company office but it was a private home with no business signs so did not feel comfortable going in.
      I feel the owner was incompetent in his repair attempt but then returned the vacuum to me partly re-assembled, in an unsafe condition . He failed to return with a replacement product after promising to do so. Throughout this episode there were periods where he couldn't return my call for days, explaining later that he had been out of town. An odd excuse in 2023.
      I wouldn't use this company again. Not looking for any refunds; just want to record my experience.
