  I am dealing with Fair Service heating and air conditioning for the last 12 years. They replaced 25 yr old heating furnace at my home 12 years ago and it was excellent workmanship & price . I have a 30 year old central Lenoxx air conditioner at my home and it was not cooling 8 years ago. Felix came in to inspect it and topped up refrigerant and unit is still working. My son had trouble with his heating furnace. Felix came in to replace shorted out circuit board and a low temp sensor about 8 years ago and my son was happpy with the service and low service charges. My second son had a 24 year old heating furnace with some troubles about 6 years ago. He got new unit installed for less than 4k. My nephew had 28 year old heating furnace and it was not working due to defective gas valve and induced motor. He got a new two stage high efficiency heating furncce installed in October and he was happy about low price unit and service. Thanks, ********** ******** *** ********* ****

  I had an older air conditioner that had stopped working a few years ago. I called one of the bigger well known HVAC companies who sent a tech and said a new AC unit was needed and gave me a quote. I then called Fair service for a second quote for a new unit and the tech suggested that while it was older but I could try sealing the coil for $*** and I might get another 5 years out of it. He also gave me a quote for a new unit that was $**** cheaper than the well known company. Well the unit just gave out 2 weeks ago, some 6 years later, so Fair Service nailed it! Unfortunately the old unit did die during a very hot period but the tech came that day since we were without AC. It was determined that repairs would be roughly $*** and rather than repair a 21 yr old unit I ordered a new one. They said they could install it in 2 days but were able to install it the next day. Very very happy with both interactions and the price and the service. Richard

  I had a furnace problem and did not know if it was better to buy a new one or fix the current one. I was told by the service tech when he came to my home that it would be too expensive to fix. He pointed at a few parts and said this one needs to be replaced and this one needs to be replaced and they are very expensive. Based on that advise I decided to buy a new one. Then the service tech asked for a $1000 as a deposit. I wrote out my check. Then I went through my papers and found my warranty which was still valid. So I called Fair service heating back and asked them to hold my check while I reconsidered my options. The office person I spoke with told me that my check had already gone through and that a repair would cost $900 to $1000 dollars. I again requested time to consider other options because I had a warranty. Then the office person told me that my warranty was likely not valid. I quickly went to the bank to cancel my check which had not gone through yet; ***** ****  I had another company come out and replace the malfunctioning part for around $160 dollars plus labour which was very reasonable.   Hello Judith, We are sorry that you had a bad experience with our firm, however, the info you have provided is not accurate to this case. You have ordered a service call for a leaking furnace. Our tech determined that your collector box is leaking and need to be replaced. As well, he pointed out that the inducer motor is louder than it should be and will need to be replaced in the future. The age of your furnace is 15 y old and the only warranty that you will have valid will be the warranty on the heat exchanger(20 Y) and not any other parts of the furnace. The other contractor changed the part on a fully chargeable basis( as you said and that indicates that you have no warranty on those parts). If you would change the collector box only we would charge you the same amount as the other contractor. If you would change both the collector and the inducer motor then the repair would cost you between 900-1000$ and that is exactly what we had told you. If you have changed your mind about purchasing the furnace you should off be paying the initial service diagnostics of 89$ and requesting your deposit back. Instead, you went to the bank and canceled your cheque. The summary is, that you did not pay our firm for the service fee on dispatching a technician for your furnace and caused our firm in addition a loss of charges for the returned cheque.
