Charity Car ProgramAbout
Important information
- Additional Info:About 50% - 100% of the vehicle's sale value will be donated to the charity of the donator's choice. Charity Car will absorb towing costs to pick up the vehicle, repairs repairs and other costs associated with the vehicle's sale. A portion of the vehicle's resale proceeds will be retained to keep the intermediary organization running.
The donated vehicle is sold directly to an auto recycler as inventory for dismantling and salvage of parts for resale. Every car is worth at least a $50 tax receipt. Donors are encoraged to confirm the value of the donor vehicle by contacting Charity Car Program at 604-321-2277 before ordering a pick up. The website currently (as of April 2018) has over 29 charities to choose from, and the donor also has the option to request the funds be directed to another Canadian registered charity that is not on their website. Once the designed charity receives the donation, the charity issues a tax receipt directly to the donor. The popularity of the program may mean that you might wait 3-7 days especially if you are after a popular time.
