We feel strongly that our family pet **** was let down, neglected and we want people to be aware. On Feb 27, 2023 our 13 year old yorkie terrier was attached by another dog or as we were informed possibly caught on a piece of wire. This occurred while in the trusted care of **** About Pets in **********. She was dropped off around 8am and picked up just after 4:45pm the same day.Signed her out and waited for her to run around the corner. She did not; they were carrying her in a blanket, and I was told she was tired. When I went to put her in her travel kennel, I noticed she is shaking, and I saw the injury. He asked what happened and no one seemed to know. He told them he is taking her directly to the ***. He arrived at the *** hospital and they were able to see her right away. They said there was a hole in her belly and that she needed surgery right away and had to leave her over night. The vet called and said she is too inflammed and infected surgery will be in morning. The vet expressed they were very upset as she must have been sitting in that state for many hours and they took pictures of the injury. She had surgery the next day with a drain tube. She ended up needing a 2nd surgery part due to the infection. It was a difficult recovery and she is still not quite the same.On Mar 22/23 we went to see the *** for some answers. Are there any cameras, how did this happen. There must have been blood. We left there feeling nothing was answered, if anything we felt worse. No cameras in the back where cages are, they did see a few drops of blood, not sure where they came from. It could have been a dog bite or maybe from a wire, sticking out, that can harm dogs. Also told on many occasions they have up to 60 dogs a day. That is the information we received, so disturbing, brought tears to my eyes. How could there only be a few drops of blood, did you not investigate to see where it came from? Understandable accidents happen. THIS IS NEGLIGENCE
