When my Mother told me she was seeing some light at the bottom of the Roll shutters they had installed 5-6 years ago I went outside to see what the problem was. I found that the bottom and sides that guide the roll ****** and stop it at the bottom were anchored into the raised stucco rim that was around the window. This raised part that surrounded the window was styrofoam that was covered in stucco. The white kind that consists of little pearls or beads that are stuck together. Really flimsy stuff. The bottom and sides of the roll shutter were attatched to this styrofoam with DRYWALL ANCHORS and nothing at all went through to any solid wood in the frame of the house! The bottom was coming out and the whole thing was loose. I was amazed that the thing had stayed on this long in the winds they have in ******. I went to Rolco in ******* to see if they would help them out and fix the blind by properly attatching it to the house. I was told that, even though the installation was done before the current owner, *****************************, had purchased the company, they would come out and fix the problem the next time they were out in our area. As he personally told me, even though there was no warrantee any more, they wanted to do this out of good will and still wanted us to recommend their shutters to others. I thought that was fair since it was installed wrong in the first place. Three months later and we are now in *********************** season. I have called and left messages several times and have never heard back from them and I have now been forced to climb a ladder, 4 months after knee replacement surgery, and drill holes and anchor it properly myself. I cannot recommend Rolco for not following thru on what they promissed. You can't believe a word ******* says.
