          The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

          On September 25, 2023 the Board for Barbers and Cosmetology issues a Consent Order regarding Tulip Nails for the following violations: 1.  Allows as responsible management a person who has not obtained a license or temporary permit to practice as a barber, cosmetologist, nail technician or wax technician unless the person is duly enrolled as a registered apprentice. 2.  Sanitation and Safety Standards for shops, salons and schools, no substance other than a sterile styptic powder or sterile liquid astringent approved and applied with a sterile single-use applicator shall be used to check bleeding.   3.  Chemical storage and emergency information, facilities shall have a in the immediate working area a binder with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) provided by manufacturers for any chemical products.   4.  Shops, salons, schools and facilities shall have a blood spill clean-up kit in the work area.   5. Facilities shall maintain a self-inspection form on file to be updated on an annual basis, kept for 5 years so that it may be reviewed when requested by the Board.
