          On August 7, 2017, BBB notified A Star Locksmith & Security of concerns regarding its advertisements observed on its website and Facebook page. Specifically, the website claims: (1) "Licensed, Bonded, Insured"; (2) "Lowest Price Guarantee", and "100% satisfaction guaranteed."

          According to BBB's Code of Advertising, "provides that the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any claims or offers made before publication or broadcast and, upon request, present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or the Better Business Bureau. Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used."

          BBB requested A Star Locksmith & Security substantiate, modify, or discontinue these claims.

          As of October 23, 2019, A Star Locksmith & Security failed to respond.

Specifically, BBB has been unable to locate an active business registration for A Star Locksmith & Security authorizing it to conduct business in Texas. As well, BBB has been unable to locate an active license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety authorizing the business to perform locksmith services. BBB requested the voluntary cooperation of A Star Locksmith & Security in confirming its authorization to conduct business in Texas and its authorization to conduct locksmith services in Texas.

          As of August 29, 2017, A Star Locksmith & Security failed to respond.
