- In 2015 BBB learned that Timberland established a policy regarding replacement of defective products as it relates to inmates in correctional facilities. Under the new policy, a consumer who is seeking a replacement for a defective product must provide an address outside of the facility for the shipment. Alternatively, consumers can contact the retailer where they purchased the product or the Commissary that is located at the institution in which they are housed.
The revised policy states in part "...to return a product for evaluation under our product warranty, ship the shoes along with your name, shoe size, reason for return, and (a) shipping address outside of the correctional facility to the below address:
