          In August 2023, BBB contacted Rock-N-Scapes regarding claims in its advertising. 

          The statement "Rock-n-Scapes is known for its eco-friendly, quality landscaping and passion for landscapes that our clients in Northeast Ohio appreciate and trust" appears at its Google page.  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, advertisers should not make broad, unqualified general environmental benefit claims like green or eco-friendly.  Advertisers must qualify general claims with specific environmental benefits and the benefits should be significant. Advertisers must not highlight small or unimportant benefits. Advertisers must also possess competent and reliable evidence (often scientific evidence) to support all environmental benefit claims. Qualifications for any claim must be clear, conspicuous and understandable. Unless clear from the context, any environmental claim must specify clearly and conspicuously whether the claim applies to the product, the product’s packaging, a service or just to a portion of the product, package or service. The business did make adjustments to its claim.
