Alert

On March 31, 2015, BBB initiated an investigation into this business after we received a complaint from a consumer who said she was contacted by Primary Payments to pay back a delinquent payday loan.

The consumer stated to BBB that Primary Payments told her she owed $1600 on a payday loan. The consumer set up payment arrangements with Primary Payments. Once she paid $1600, Primary Payments provided her a “Paid in Full” letter to present to the payday loan company to show that the loan was paid in full.
The consumer was informed by the payday loan company that Primary Payments is not their collection agency. The consumer requested a refund from Primary Payments, but after four weeks she has not received a response.

During the course of the investigation, BBB was able to determine that the address in Cincinnati, OH the business claimed as its own, is actually owned and occupied by another business that has never heard of Primary Payments.

BBB attempted to reach Primary Payments at (210) 960-9000, however we were only able to leave a message. The phone number appears to be a mobile number in San Antonio, TX.

BBB also attempted to reach Primary Payments at (614) 407-0833, however we were told that this phone number does not belong to Primary Payments, but a collection agency called Litigation Services Group. The phone number appears to be a land-line in Columbus, OH.

BBB advises consumers who receive a suspicious telephone call about an outstanding debt to ask the debt collector to provide official documentation which substantiates the debt and do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call.
