MO AG vs. Blake Mahoney

In January 2022, Missouri Attorney General, Eric Schmitt, charged Blake Mahoney, owner of Mo State Construction, with 11 counts of Financial Exploitation of the Elderly and Deceptive Business Practices in Audrain and Boone Counties.  Mahoney demanded money upfront for home construction and renovation work, then failed to complete the work. 

In January 2023, Mahoney was sentenced to seven years in prison and ordered to pay $83,000 as restitution, but his sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years probation.  According to media reports, Mahoney paid $20,000 in restitution prior to sentencing.
