On February 26, 2021 the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11 (b) (1) (9) and 326B.36, subds. 1 and 4 (2020). Under terms of the Consent Order, the business agreed to ensure all required permits or electrical inspection are submitted before work begins in Minnesota, all necessary corrections are made in a timely manner, all employees, subcontractors and independent contracts performing electrical work for the business are registered and properly supervised or are appropriately licensed.
Then on April 6, 2022, the business entered into a second Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The second Consent Order settles an investigation that on March 11, 2022, DLI investigated allegations that the business again failed to obtain a required permit or request for electrical inspection and failed to ensure that its 'Responsible Licensed Individual' was either an owner, officer, or W-2 employee of the business. Under the terms of the 2022 Consent Order, the business shall ensure it submits all required permits or requests for permits before beginning electrical work in Minnesota, will schedule all inspections in a timely manner and ensure all employees, subcontractors and independent contractors performing electrical work are either actively registered and properly supervised or appropriately licensed. The business shall pay a $2000 penalty from the 2021 Consent Order and pay an additional penalty of $3000 with a $5000 penalty stayed on the condition they comply fully with the terms of the 2022 Consent Order.
The Consent Order was for settlement purposes only and should not be considered as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of the law. For more details go to this link.
