On 11/05/2024, BBB contacted Airvida Chambers regarding concerns about the company advertising and selling hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers without prior approval by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, which regulates both hyperbaric chambers and the oxygen used within the chambers. The business was additionally found to be advertising chambers for use and/or sale capable of pressures of over 1.4ATA, while claiming that the chambers were not cleared as medical devices. FDA regulation states that any chambers capable of above 1.4ATA of pressure must be cleared as a medical device.
