COVID Lab Owner Pleads Guilty To $14 Million Scheme To Defraud Government
On February 23,2022 Zishan Alvi, co-owner of LabElite, was indicted by a federal grand jury on 10 counts of wire fraud and 1 count of theft of government funds for purportedly submitting fraudulent claims for reimbursement on tests which were never performed, were performed improperly, or were already paid for by the client. On October 1st, 2024 Zishan Alvi, co-owner of LabElite has pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud for which he could face up to 20 years in federal prison, according to a U.S. Attorney’s Office and Alvi will be sentenced February 7, 2025.
