      I had two contracts with Hertz. One lasted from June 21st 2022 - August 2nd 2022 and another August 2nd 2022 to August 30th. The first contract was marvelous no issues with "holds" on my account. I renewed the contract because I received great service. The second contract was a ******* nightmare and the customer service department at Hertz turned out to be utter trash this time around. I rented my vehicle for Uber on a a 4-week basis. EVERY WEEK MONEY was taken out of my account $437 to be exact. I get to the end of the contract and I see a $1749 charge on my account that put in my in the negative. I'm out here suffering with no money because of the idiocy that had occurred. I want my money back. The money each week was never HELD it was TAKEN!!! NOW YOU GUYS OVERCHARGED ME TOO MUCH MONEY AND MY ACCOUNT IS IN THE NEGATIVE. I NEED THIS RECTIFIED!

      On August 1st 2022 I picked up a rental car from Hertz in ********** on ***************. I gave them my debit card for the 100 dollar authorization hold and my insurance company paid for the rental. The rental was returned on August 18th , and the account was closed out on the 19th. I confirmed no issues. It is now September 1st and the 100 dollar hold is still on my account - I returned the car on August 18th- my account was closed out and Hertz customer service says they released the hold for the 100 dollars on August 19th. *** - manager of ******* in ***** ** , specifically said hertz needs to release it and that they have not yet(this was a week ago ). I drove to my bank on Tuesday August 30th and spoke to ****** who went into my account and said Hertz is still holding it and it was to expire the next day- August 30th . I look in my account today and it's STILL THERE. I call Hertz on *************** in ********** and the employee says it is an issue in thier billing department and that I have to call them. I call the billing department and they tell me it's not them its my bank. I hold a conference between a supervisor in Hertz billing and customer service from ******* and they are ARGUING back and forth. I get disconnected - get a different supervisor at Hertz and this man tells us completely different information than the previous supervisor - he can't connect us to the other Hertz supervisor as they have no information in the system as to who I talked to (her name is ******) and refuses to forward us to someone higher than him. TD has proof Hertz placed this hold for August 1st - September 12th from the Hertz terminal. TD has screen shots - reference number and everything that HERTZ needs to see this is an issues on thier end. The man on the phone named *** (supervisor ) kept referring us to the policies on thier website and told my bank there is nothing that they can do. This is not right ! I need help getting them to release my money. I have bills

      I needed to rent a car while my car was being serviced. I made a reservation on-line and was told I had to prepay to reserve the car rental. So I prepaid for a week, not knowing how long I would need the car. Before I arrived at the rental location, I learned from the dealer my car would ready the next day. I asked the clerk if I could return early and receive the daily rate. He indicated since I had pre-paid there were no refunds. I called Hertz customer service and was told that the prepaid/refund policy was sent to me in the email confirming rental and therefore there would be no refund. I checked my email and there was no written policy information regarding refunds on prepaid rentals. Similarly, this information would have been ex post facto since I received the email only after I had paid. Hertz is practicing deceptive online practices. Lastly, my $500 deposit has not been returned. The Hertz agent told me they refund the money immediately at end of rental. I called my bank and there has been no refund initiated by Hertz at the time of my call. Do not rent from Hertz. I've travelled all over the world on business and have rented from Hertz many times. But it seems their business model is changing, and not for the better. Renter be ware!

      If I could give less than one star I would. I had to have a rental while my car was in the shop and from start to finish my experience with Hertz was a nightmare. At one point I found out they had taken over 6 UNAUTHORIZED payments over $200 from my checking account, luckily I caught it before the charges had processed and I called my banks fraud dept to reverse the charges. When I picked up my rental they told me since I put it on my debit card there was a $500 deposit even though the website doesn't tell you anything about that. 4 days after I dropped off the car, they tried to take another $400 AND I never got the $500 deposit back despite following the contract to a T. I'm not even mentioning the poor organization and horrible customer service.

      The Worst ever! They will destroy your day! My friend booked his car, showed up to pick it up...He was told the car was not available as the car had been rented a few days longer. A very unfriendly Asian lady told him he would have to pay 40$ more per day for a different car and didn't want to acknowledge his Servicemen discount. All was pre arranged and booked online. He ended up walking out as the lady was epicly rude. He missed his nieces graduation and sisters wedding. What a nightmare..... do not book with them online or face the same. Horrible, rude customer service!

      We reserved a seven-person vehicle for a family vacation. When arriving, we found that Hertz had no car available for us, and instead, recommended that we "wait downstairs and hopefully a vehicle will be returned." I refused this and stood at the counter for over an hour so they would be forced to deal with me. I suggested that they provide us with a second vehicle, which they did do, but which ended up costing my family additional time, money, stress, and fatigue, as now we were split up and could never take a break in driving, and had to pay double the gas and parking. We requested that they reimburse us for the additional gas and other expenses related to a second car and are waiting on a response. We noticed when we picked up the car that many other people were "waiting downstairs" and another customer at the counter was in tears as they also did not have a car for her family. We only received an emailed "return" receipt for one of the cars so are hoping that disaster doesn't strike.

      I rented a car from Hertz while I had some work done to my car. On day 6 in the morning, the car did not work. I called the Hertz where I rented the car and they told me I had to call for roadside assistance. I called and was on hold for a very long time which was hard with my work schedule. I was told that the only replacement vehicle I could get was at the airport which is far away and very inconvenient. I told them to just pick up the vehicle which I had been able to drive back to my house. They advised me to leave the keys in the glove compartment and that it would be picked up. It wasn't. The next day I called again and waited again for a long time. They finally picked it up. I got the bill and it charged me for a full week (not the 6 days that I had a car that worked) plus 2 extra days. I called and again waited and then was told by someone that they couldn't refund the over $103 in inaccurate charges but they could give me a gift certificate for $100. I asked to speak to a superviser and was put on hold and again told that all they could do was provide a gift certificate. Ridiculous customer service resulting in my disputing the charge through my credit card.

      HERTZ IS THE WORST. I rented a car last year, they over charged me, did not cancel a reservation and attempted to double charge. Then they put through extra charges on my card for no reason. 1 month after returning the car they sent a letter saying I stole it and would be charged if I dod not return the car. I had to contact them multiple times to clear this. THEN a year later they charge my card again and now I have to go to ************* the whole thing out again. I will NEVER use HERTZ EVER! Please save yourself the hassle and don't rent from this company

      This company promised after returning my car I will get a $200 deposit back. Instead of giving me my $200 deposit back they charged me more than double for my rental. My original estimate was $183 and they charged me over $411. I currently have a dispute with my credit card but I'm not hopeful because if they're deceptive practices. I will never rent from Hertz again and recommend that you stay far away

      They have not returned my $200 deposit and my car was returned in good standing over 2 weeks ago. They told me it was released, it has not showed on my credit card statement and I've even called my financial institution and they've confirmed it has not been returned.
