In January 2020, BBB investigated Dynasty Toys business practices. This investigation was prompted by a large volume of complaints, consumer inquiries, and advertising issues. These reports shared concerns over the fulfillment and delivery of products sold, and communication issues.
Regarding Business Practices
On January 21,2020, BBB reached out to Dynasty Toys via email to request information regarding the company's business practices, pattern of complaints, and advertising concerns.
Regarding business practices BBB requested the following information:
• Procedures to ensure consumers are receiving responses in a reasonable amount of time
• Procedures to ensure consumers are obtaining refunds in a timely matter, and process of informing of the refund process
• The best way for consumers to reach your company should they have any concerns
• Clarification on addresses found during BBB research
On January 27, 2020, Dynasty Toys responded back but did not sufficiently address the concerns of the letter. BBB responded requesting further information.
On January 28, 2020, Dynasty Toys responded back with some clarification and indicated that further information was being processed.
On March 9, 2020, BBB sent a follow-up email to Dynasty Toys to address the remaining business practices concerns, pattern of complaints concerns, and advertising concerns.
On April 8, 2020, Dynasty Toys responded back indicating that the business did not have any further information regarding BBB concerns and were not currently active on the business website, https://dynasty-toys.myshopify.com/.
Regarding Pattern of Complaints
BBB records indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints. Specifically, customer complaints allege that after processing payment, Dynasty Toys fails to deliver the product(s). Furthermore, when consumers try to contact the company by email, their requests for an update on their product is unreasonably delayed and any requests for refund are ignored.
BBB requested Dynasty Toys to provide a response outlining the steps the business would implement in order to avoid similar patterns in the future. Additional correspondence was sent to Dynasty Toys several times from January 2020 to April 2020.
As of April 22, 2020, the business has not responded to our request.
Regarding Advertising Concerns
Additionally, BBB requested Dynasty Toys to modify, substantiate or discontinue a claim made on their website, https://dynasty-toys.myshopify.com/, that reflected 5 Star Reviews. Advertisers must be prepared to substantiate such claims per BBB's Code of Advertising.
BBB's Code of Advertising Section 1 of the Code requires that advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used.
BBB's Code of Advertising Section 30 of the Code states, advertisers should ensure that testimonials and endorsement are not misleading and represent the current opinion of the endorser. A consumer endorser’s experience should reflect what users generally achieve, unless there is a clear and conspicuous disclosure of what the expected results will be. Advertisers should not include claims in testimonials that they themselves cannot make and support.
As of April 22, 2020 the business has not responded to BBB's request.
